Never heard of that, it looks so weird.
That is so cool.
You can send me some gems and beans, the brinjals are all yours tho.
Share the result of the corn once dry and popped!
They are beautiful
What can you add to potting soil to prevent it draining through to the bottom of the pot so quickly. It seems like it just passes through.
Put some flat stones over the drainage holes. You can also add vermiculite to retain moisture.
Edit: It could also be that your soil has gotten too dry and become hydrophobic
The holes are covered. It could have gotten too dry. Its just when you have something small just starting to grow you water the top to keep it moist and it overflows the bottom.
It might be better to use something finer to retain the moisture. Peat moss or some seedling mix might help.
Here is a summary of the tomatoes we managed to grow this Summer.
Red Cherry, Santorini Cherry, Floradade, Yellow Pear, Banana Legs and Black Krim.
Winter gardening has begun, with peas already bearing and spinach in abundance. Other than that, I just want to try some broccoli and Brussels sprouts again. Then it’ll be some pruning and conditioning of the soil.
We are trying to figure out what the fuck is eating our spinach. Not snails or slugs we have that covered.
Could it be birds? These mousebirds chow everything.
We actually suspect the squirrels… They have gone bonkers, we cant plant food om seeds, they dig it all up even seedlings
I’ve asked our barista to keep all the coffee pucks for me so that I can use them as a form of fertiliser for my grass, anyone tried this kind of practice?
Not on the lawn, but I have mixed coffee grounds in for my chillies.
Have thrown coffee grounds into the pot plants.
Currently have all pot with nothing growing. Took all the soil out and filled them with peels. My version of composting in an apartment. The one mound that formed from being overfilled has already settled.
We mix coffee grounds and orange peels in the front garden - it supposedly keeps cats out of the yard. So far it seems to work
I bought some Wonder Super Phosphate for the lawn. I hope to sprinkle it over the lawn to promote some growth and life into my lawn. Question is, do I spray the lawn after if has been applied to help absorb into the soil?
Is that the chemical pellets? Those are slow release but will need water for sure. How often do you water? Just apply it before rain or before your next scheduled watering. But it will take 3 months or so to finish up.
Yeah, I don’t mind it taking a while. I have been watering more regularly in the hopes of naturally encouraging it.
I don’t think they’re pellets, I haven’t opened the packet yet but I think it’s more akin to bonemeal and course.
Ah, ok. Probably still a slow release, but I think watering right away is a bit more important so it doesn’t all blow away.
Send me a picture. I can ask my mum. We use a slow-release pellet, and normally throw it on the lawn before it rains. Let the rain do the hard work. Be careful to distribute evenly, too much can burn the lawn.
