I decided that this year we won’t be buying Christmas cards so I started making some. Will be making a couple more designs later.
That is very cool, I love them. Gives them so much personality along with making it feel so much more personal and intimate.
Nice, they actually look like cards at the shops that they try to give a handmade feel.
OK, my turn!
In December 2020 we bought a cheap above ground pool on Takealot. It comes with a pump but we found out half a summer in that its utter rubbish!
So we took it down in March 2021. Getting rid of all the water was a pain, and took forever to pump out.
Then, when I put up the pool in November I planned it much better.
Firstly, the outlet is now right above a storm water drain.
Secondly, I installed a proper pump and sand filter. By my SELF I might add! This tookme about 2 weeks of hassle and finding correct fittings. But now it is done! I can even fit an automatic vacuum!
I am so chuffed!
These 2 pipes are the suction on the left, and the outlet on the right.
Here you can see the 2 old inlet and outlet holes, now plugged.
There goes the pipes around the edges of the courtyard and out to the pump outside.
My only regret is not getting the last 2 pipes to be parallel!
Here is the pump underneath the doggie ramp to the back yard. I have not done the electricals yet. Always hesitant with those. So now its just an extension. For now.
And then finally I also put up a shade net so my kids do not get fried. And some rules!
I can feel your pain, just looking at it irks me. >_<
haha but good job well done, very nice and baaie neat. Well done sir!
LOL, pardon the mess, I was having a break before cleaning up. I literally JUST finished!
No man! It looks great, genuinely. I like the rules section, I’ve also been considering painting some of our wall with that blackboard paint for the kids.
Other than that, I think you did a bang-up job, very neat indeed.
Thanks!
My wife is like: those two pipes are a different colour blue!
Very nicely done!!
Very nice! It looks great.
Right, safety hazard! The suction is too strong and if someone gets their hair sucked in they will be stuck!
I will see if I can make some sort of weir/skimmer so nobody gets sucked up and drowns. I have unplugged it all to make sure my kids dont swim with it on tomorrow…
I was actually going to ask about this yesterday and got distracted. Thank goodness you thought of it too! Since is so exposed, how about putting some kind of cage over it to stop any surface suction, like a ball of chicken wire or something?
Or drill a couple of holes along the submerged inlet - like a vacuum’s opening for when you accidentally pick up a carpet, and you can hear your wife over the noise of the vacuum lifting off.
So I have been looking for a simple small plain planter everywhere. Even this one is about 2cmx2cm to big but after 4 months best I could find. Plain white at Mr p home for R100.
I had some blue paint left from my room painting.
So I’ve started this:
But now I am over thinking things…
Blue white blue white blue?
Or just the thin strip white where the masking tape is?
This one.
I ended up with akind of ombre - letting this layer dry first then touch up and meet at the darker edge that I will keep clean
But what happened to the white stripes?
My ocd won out, I couldn’t get them even so got rid of them
