Solid stream indeed, despite me not having much of a clue what you were doing or what the chat was talking about most of the time
Only suggestion is to maybe move the on screen chat overlay to the left hand side of your screen when you switch to the mini games. Canāt read the game text / scoreboard on right side of the screen when the Twitch chat is on top of it.
Was also going to suggest you start saving your VODs, but see you did that last night, so I can show you what I meanā¦
Thanks so much. I did mention the chat thing during the stream. It would have required me to blank out the screen for the time being while I moved things around, so Iāll definitely be making a plan to be able to move the chat window without messing with the video.
Discobear_PS (aka @murfle) is so close to reaching the 50 Followers he needs for Affiliate status. If you havenāt yet and do have a Twitch account, please consider going to give him that last push he needs to get over the 50. You donāt even have to wait for him to be online. You can go follow right now:
Youāre making me blush! Thanks so much for the plug ! Making affiliate does mean I need to up my game a little.
The most pressing things I need at the moment and near future will be emotes and channel point images. @Beo and @wenzdayz, you both offered to help me out with some graphics. Or anyone else willing to help. I do need consistency though, and Iām going to need more emotes in the future, so please keep that in mind. Iām also not opposed to paying someone on fiverr or something, but I need to get some subs/donations firstā¦
Emotes:
Character - Disco Bear. Teddy bear in a white jumpsuit and red shirt. Think John Travolta in Saturday night fever. Needs to be wearing sunglasses with a white frame.
Static emotes needed - Heart, Crazy, Hype, LUL, Poggers, JAM.
Animated emotes needed - Dancing. Again, think Saturday Night Fever. Never seen it? Ever played WoW? The male human dance is from SNF.
Other things - Planning on calling my channel points āDisco Ballsā or something similar. A static disco ball is needed. Also a spinning disco ball emote would be awesome.
Emotes need to be in all 3 of the following sizes:
28x28 px
56 x 56
112 x 112 (but can be up to 4096 x 4096 to be resized)
and needs to have a transparent background, PNG for static, GIF for animated and be under 1MB, and if thereās any kinds of flashing lights: Flashing or Flickering effects animated emotes, that occur more than 3 times within 1 second, including rapidly changing colors are against the ToS

Itās an intermediate tier below full Partner that allows the streamer to step up their channel engagement and activities with some extra features and tools. Channel specific emotes as @murfle describes is one. The ability to improve chat engagement through things like Channel Points is another. The other big thing is that Affiliates can start earning Twitch subscriptions and the small revenues that go with that.
From a broadcast point of view, the other big positive to making Affiliate is that Affiliates are more likely to get encoding options for their streams than non-Affiliates do. That means while Iāll be safer keeping my stream at a lower resolution (720p) to ensure as many viewers have a reasonable viewing experience, but an Affiliate would be able to safely stream at a higher res (1080p) knowing that their viewers would have encoding options available if the stream is bufferring badly.
OBS Studio, or Streamlabs OBS is free software. My PC struggles a bit since I donāt have a dedicated stream PC, but I can run OBS and minecraft at the same time with decent results. No special hardware needed other than a mic.
I did pick up one of these so I can run my PS4 through OBS. The built in twitch software on PS4 doesnāt allow for all the overlays and such, which wonāt get/keep many viewers engaged. Works well enough, you can check my most recent VOD for the quality.
