I just got back into the game after a VERY long time to get accustomed to the controls and mechanics again. I worked through the tutorial and as soon as I got off my terrible radiated starting planet, I happened upon a nice Paradise Moon. I discovered and dubbed it “Farligia”. It truly is beautiful and blissful! The game also truly shines in HDR…

A new Expedition has begun in NMS - Expedition 4: Emergence started yesterday and will run through until 17 November.
Across the universe, planets have been blighted by the activity of Titan Worms. These colossal sandworms plough through the desert sands, blacking out the sun as they arc overhead, and defiling the very terrain with their cursed dust.
In Expedition Four: Emergence, travellers will find themselves stranded on planet Wasan, a barren world ravaged by dust storms and infested with Titan Worms. It is up to you to locate the Titan Worm impact sites, destroy the wretched Hungering Tendrils, and collect the Vile Spawn that lingers behind. The vessels of the many mouths must be purged!
As travellers cleanse planets of cursed dust and hunt the titanic sandworms, they will unravel the threads of a dark narrative. Complete the expedition route to reveal the history of a dark cult, and ultimately confront the Atlas with evidence of this indelible stain upon the universe.

Are expeditions temporary or is there a way of doing past expeditions?
I think it’s like Diablo seasons, where if the next one comes out then the previous one is done? Let me google lol.

I was actually really interested in cartographers because it took place on one planet. Would’ve been cool to explore one planet for once lol. instead of darting off every few minutes XD

I have put the re-release of Cartographers in my calendar because I spent a lot of time in that one but didn’t get to finish it, so I am looking forward to the chance to complete it!
It’s mostly on one planet but not all of it.

I also want to do it because I never even got to do it. I thought I still had a week left to start it but alas.
And I wanted to complete it because of exactly the fact that it’s mostly one planet. Since you never stay on a planet for long.

Cartographers is live again but whenever I try to load up my saved file from the previous Cartographers expedition, my game crashes after going through the whole flying-through-space load process.
I shall PERSIST!

phew, completed Cartographers last night just before 2am haha. good thing I’m on leave still.
I started this late again so had to rush through. Also spent alot of time googling coz a lot of things wasn’t very obvious(probably coz I havent been playing this game much for the last 2 years)

I managed to finish it too but I wasn’t very happy. The rewards weren’t really good for existing players to transfer over to another saved game. The rewards were more focused on new players to continue on after the expedition. I mean seriously, they gave us ALL THREE DRIVES as a phase reward! I have been slaving away in my regular saved game and have just managed to get the cadmium drive recently. I’m so upset about that because I can’t transfer the reward over to my regular game.
Also I realised that the expedition I actually wanted to play was Emergence, not Cartographers. The one with the giant flying worms!
