yup been on the old cortisone train for a while now but my skin is getting really thin, so changed specialists and the new one was like what the hell why have you not done oral therapy, i’m about to go on methotrexate so thats a tad scary, epimax didn’t work that great , was using eucerin the UreaRepair PLUS Lotion 10% Urea which was working well in case you have not and want to try it, have since switched over to Avene XeraCalm A.D Lipid-Replenishing Cream for the last week which also seems good.
The cheapest cream I have used that actual feels like it works is Epy Derm U 10% Urea Cream , was doing that at night and eucirn during the day since it does a barrier layer
ja cortisone is so bad for you. Eucerin was my first port of call but did not work for me. Cetaphil worked for a while as well and then it stopped. the Avene products do work quite nicely they are just shit expensive. i use the one that they recommend to reduce redness and it helps a bit(i actually forgot it at home today so i cant tell you exactly which one i use). i even tried the cremes they give to ppl who are recovering form burns and chemical peels. those creams helped for like 4 days and then the eczema came back with a bang.
im also permanently on Fexo 180 antihistamine which helps with me not wanting to claw out my eyes (the rosacea and eczema severely affects my eyes .
i have been told to cut out caffeine out of my diet as well as it worsens the conditions but its hard cut it out completely.
well goodluck with the methotrexate therapy. hopefully it works for you. i need to go back and see my dermatologist again soon, but at R800 a visit of which i hardly get anything back from medical aid it does get expensive. he wants to send me on some light therapy thing to reduce the blood vessels in my face which will help with the rosacea outbreaks but its like > R2000 per session and you need like 10-12 sessions and medical aid does not cover that as its seen as cosmetic.
I personally find PigSpotter’s tweets very offensive. My brother-in-law is a metro cop for JMPD and works his butt off to keep the highways a safe place for commuters to use. He doesn’t take bribes (in fact he detests it and tells offenders it when they try to do it), is always on duty during his shifts and helps out the general public when they have traffic woes. Reading stuff like this and how he is stereotyped as a piece of pig meat is really disgusting and degrading to the metro cops trying to earn a decent living. I get that he’s trying to expose corruption in the police force, but surely he can be a bit more tactful about it.
EDIT: I take my hat off to him (and others) who have to endure the rudeness of the general public on the roads and the stomach-churning cleanups they have to do at accident scenes. They are actually severely underpaid and underappreciated.
