We’re off to the Pretoria baby expo today to spend a lot of money that I don’t have on lots of baby stuff we probably won’t need. Still, the wife is super excited and has been looking forward to it for months…

So, eventually back home. Ended up buying nursery furniture (cot, compactum and feeding chair), a rocker / soother chair, 3 pairs of Pitta Patta baby shoes, 2 babygrows and an Isofix base for the Doona carseat / pram we got as a gift from my parents and a pair of bunny slippers. All in all a very bad day for my bank account…

Sadly not, they’re for “mah boi” coming in August. I can’t stand slippers myself - even in winter I’ll walk around barefoot in the house. My shoe of choice outside the house is always vulcanized sneakers, come rain, snow or shine. People always look at me weird when it’s blazing hot outside and I’m wearing shorts and sneakers. For work I’ve got sneaker-like loafers in weathered brown leather, but that’s the farthest I’d stray from my Vans, Globes, Emericas or Etnies (yes I’ve got 4 pairs).
