Offbeat . . . Off Topic

There was an article on moneyweb once. I’ll try find it.

yes its almost like your warranty 100000 k’s or 5 years whichever comes firsts, the problem with the belts are they are made from rubber and stretches after a while becomes hard etc and then they snap

Well if you take your monthly car payment including insurance (say 3k a month) and devide that by 30 days it works out to R100 a day and that excludes petrol

ja if you’re a hermit :stuck_out_tongue:

and my car is paid off so I only pay for insurance and diesel

Here it is.

I don’t know, I’m not fully convinced.

Hmmm for someone like me it may be very viable. Thanks for the article @czc.

However I’m still very keen on getting that Megane one day.

Another nice thing is the time you gain where normally you would have driven, you can now do something productive. Even if just reading a book.

yeah that is like a worst case scenario car owner

most people don’t pay for parking. the insurance is way too high, nobody (I know) spends R150 per month to clean their car and tolls are not a thing in the majority of the country

audiobooks :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s what I currently do while driving to work and back.

one day when tesla cars are here we can do that

It would be cool to run to work but its not practical.

I walk to my office and back every day…

You also live in the same building as your office

work from home

I know hence saying you live in the same building

Or we could invent teleportation and get to work that way.

That would stop me driving my car to work.

hahaha, same building to the extreme

Uber would never work for me. I live in the sticks and constantly driving to see clients.
I can’t even car pool with my wife as my schedule is so erratic

I’m listening podcasts while driving, but I find that I sometimes miss stuff, when crossing an intersection or so.

I love driving myself.

Went to test drive the Haval H2 today. Think I’m disappointed…
