I think you’re on to something there. Some of the best times I’ve had chatting with ladies I’ve been interested in have been in the kitchen. Usually while I’m making food for a group, or whatnot. I call it “kitchen time”.
mornings!!!
so the husband has been having issues with his corsa, has had to go into Opel now for the thrid time in 3 weeks… now they say they have found the problem and its going to cost R104k to fix, WTF???
jip and its to replace the engine… in what world will anyone pay that … ugh
I wonder why so many people need to replace their engines suddenly. It’s very weird.
well he had a problem 3 weeks ago where his engine was overheating(the overheat engine light never came on) and he was having to refill his radiator all the time, so he took it in and they replaced the water pump and pipes.
the second time he took it back the car service light came on and the radiator had to be refilled again. they then replaced everything they said they previously replaced and they lowered the car’s uhm refs(i think thats it)
now this week everytime he would turn the aircon on the car service light and engine light would come on, but as soon as the aircon is switched off those lights go away. and ofcourse he also still needs to refill the radiator all the time.
i think this is the garages f**k up…
at least mine has a somewhat happy ending
ja that’s too much. way too much. I would get a second opinion
Is the car emitting puffs of smoke? If so, what color is the smoke? It could be a cracked engine block or a cracked head. But you’d have to take it to a proper mechanic (read : not the dealer) to actually diagnose
Not sure why I never made use of it. But thoroughly enjoying RedBullTV!
no its not emitting anything, in fact it is not even making any funny sounds. except for a beep once.
they are saying a cylinder head is blown and something else i cant recall… but you can tell me that a whole brand new engine is going to cost that much…never
@wenzdayz, I think @PsychoFish is correct. A couple of years ago when I still had my old car, the engine block was cracked and had to be replaced.
it was done by the Bosch Service Centre there on Beyers. Maybe take it to them too to diagnose.
Morning all.
Nightmare week is nightmarish.
YES, its very very very
Yeah, generally if a car uses water (especially at the rate @wenzdayz has described) it will either be the head gasket, head or cylinder block that has cracked. You can replace the engine block, but it costs about the same as replacing the engine. Besides you’ll need to change NATIS details at the traffic dept as the engine number will change if you change either the engine or engine block. The head is relatively simple to replace (especially on a Opel) most of the costs will go into labor though. Cylinder head is around R2000 just for the part and you’ll need to replace the gaskets (2 x R~200)
And exams are over, it was a decent exam, Im hopeful. At least unisa just did what they always do, reusing old papers, just changing the case study - and not even that, they just changed the names in the study.
@wenzdayz if possible take the car to these guys - http://www.headzone.za.net/
We used their cape town branch a few times - brilliant work, not an arm and a leg.
You had just one exam?
Yep this semester was more just projects to hand in and only one paper to write thank goodness
Will see how next semester goes
thanks Wyvz, sal dit vir hubby gee.
Ons familie gebruik hulle al vir jare, baie eerlike mense en goeie werk. My Tazz was so R13000 vir oor bou van engine na head gasket gegaan het
what kind of happy ending ?
