That makes sense, I have forgotten about that, but its because I flush my sinuses out every morning and night with some saline spray.

Renault is almost synonymous with strange electrical problems. Honestly you can buy EXACTLY the same vehicle with a different badge (Nissan Qashqai) and have none of the same issues.

The Nissan Qashqai and Renault Kadjar have exactly the same engine, engine bay, cockpit, front underbody, rear underbody and just varies on the body and electrical systems. If memory serves me right the Qashqai is also about R30k cheaper than the Renault. Also the petrol engines we get in SA for the Kadjar is the terrible 1.2l Turbo charged one. Fuel consumption on that engine is terrible, the turbo lag is noticeable and because the engine is under so much stress (small engine in a big car producing lots of power) you will have wear and tear breakages not covered by maintenance and warranty agreements.

IF you do decide to buy the Renault Kadjar, please make sure you buy the 1.5 DCi as it’s the most fuel efficient of the engines available to the Kadjar models and has comparable power to the petrol.

Notice that in the last 3 months NO dealer in SA has reported a single sale of a Renault Kadjar

@PsychoFish @wenzdayz

I wanted to buy a Megane a month or two back. The reason there were no sales is because they had no stock the last couple of months. All sold out.

I drive a Renault and have been very happy. So much so that my next car will most probably be a Renault. Well that’s if I do go for the Megane. Just want to pay off my house first.

I mentioned this on MyGaming, but decided to take another chance.

A book called “How To Understand Women”.

Laid flat, it’s 1.5 meters tall. The first page reads: “Good luck” in fine print, on the flip side of the front cover.

Think I need to ask for my money back? :expressionless:

Then they must not have had stock for the last 6 months as Renault’s sales stats on everything except the Kwid is dismal at best. Dealt with Renault’s shit on three different occasions, my Wife’s Megane completely destroyed it’s electrical system and had to replace the entire wiring harnass to get it to work correctly. Renault Clio popped two turbos in one year before I told Renault SA to shove the car. The last straw was when her Koleos caught fire after a service while driving home (the fuel injection housing cracked and squirted petrol onto the exhaust manifold). Bought her a Kia Rio and i’ve only had to do tyres, brakes and services on the Rio for the last 7 years.

i love my lil Rio as well. my only negative is that i should have bought and Automatic when i bought her 6 years ago…

Morning all.
Intresting talk about cars.

Car manufacturers I simply will not buy cars from :

  • Fiat
  • Alfa Romeo
  • Peugeot
  • Citroën
  • Renault
  • Tata
  • Škoda
  • Lada
  • Anything coming out of China

Lol i feel bad for my manager then. He has the 1.2 turbo

So you’ve had the Kia for the last 7 years? It sounds like those other cars were old. I’m sorry to hear about your problems with Renault. Personally I’ve had none and I’m enjoying my current car plus Renault Northcliff is outstanding.

And yes, they have had stock issues since the beginning of the year. For instance I went back a couple of months. Like in November:

Compact/Medium Crossover/SUV

Toyota Rav4 747
Hyundai Tucson 494
VW Tiguan 488
Mazda CX-5 295
Nissan Qashqai 269
Nissan X-Trail 226
Kia Sportage 225
Renault Duster 153
Honda H-RV 113
Audi Q5 100
Renault Kadjar 100
Toyota C-HR 98
Audi Q3 77
Honda CR-V 70
Ford Kuga 69
Peugeot 3008 43

Compact/Medium Hatch/Sedan

Toyota Corolla/Quest/Auris 1711
VW Golf 702
Ford Focus 440
Audi A3 377
Mazda3 265
VW Jetta 252
Renault Megane 215
Opel Astra 140
Hyundai Elantra 119
Volvo V40 78

Renault isn’t what they used to be. They are much better these days. I’m sorry to hear about your previous problems.

Seems as though LTE has just arrived in my area. CellC has a deal for R279 which is 20gb day and 20gb nightime data.
looks like I might just get it

That crossover/SUV list makes me sad. My car doesn’t crack the nod.

Cars in the UK seem oddly cheap compared to here…

Mazda RX-8 1.3 4dr (2004 model) in the UK - £499 (R 8 562,29)
2004 Mazda RX-8 in SA - R179 000 (£ 10 431,91)

Yes but whereas insurance is cheap here, in the UK its expensive.

and mandatory. I’ll be paying around £400 per year for insurance, but it gets offset by not having to pay medical aid.

Get medical - the NHS has gone backwards from all I have heard. The copayments are getting bigger and most “big” things are difficult to get sorted out there - otherwise just put money aside for just in case
