Wat doen die plattelandse mense om jou so op te werk?

Busy times have been busy; I also realised today that I haven’t been very active on the forum lately, or not as active as I would like to be.

Also, since it seems that the news is traveling way, way faster than I was anticipating (especially looking at how few people I have told), we have started with the process to migrate to Australia. This has added to my level of busy, but yeah, exciting and scary times ahead. Probably about a year off from actually leaving (that is if we get the Visas).

Best of luck with that @Blazzok. It’s scary but I really worry about South Africa’s future. And people who have children have all the more reason to leave.

A few things.

The fact that the school system is getting worse all the time and that the quality of education (at least in public schools) is going down.
I can’t see a good future for my son, who is now 3 and a bit, by the time he is 22 and has to get a job. Even if he goes to study and has a degree; there are already people in this position who struggle to get work.
The government who gets all my tax money but does very little to fuckall for me with that money. Most of it gets squandered on shit or gets stolen (just look at how many municipalities are bankrupt, the amount of corruption, etc.)
We get taxed more/have to pay ever higher levies due to their incompetence, lack of giving a shit for anyone but themselves. They get to spend money not their own however they want, must be fun.
The numbers of the uneducated and/or unemployed masses is growing, meaning more people who have to be supported by the government (our tax), so the incentive to work is not really there; not there are really jobs available for these people.
The public healthcare system in the country is a joke, so you basically need to go private or risk dying in the hospital due to poor or no care/poor or no facilities/no medicine.

In a meeting now, so can’t go on, but there is more of the same.

Morning MEWBS,

@Blazzok good luck on the move bud, I know it takes a while. good friend moved to aus and loves it. Must admit of my 5 friends who have moved he is the only one.

Wife was offered a job in the uae but we declined as Zoe would have been 2 months old.
I love RSA, but hear where you are coming from bud

So sad, but mostly true!
I would immigrate at a heart beat to give my daughter a better future or chance at a future.
It is just tough if you do not know anyone abroad to get your foot in the door

Even with a sponsor in Aus i didn’t get in, and now I cannot afford to try again.

I heard it is a very pricey process indeed

In 2008/9 I spent R35K and failed with 1 point for Aus, that was with an agent :frowning:

But in other news - I got a distinction on my Business Management portfolio

I am lucky that I married a remedial teacher so I’m not too worried about education.
My wife is a British citizen so getting to the UK is easy. She wants to go back, but I want to wait it out a bit first.
I live on 20ha in the mountains and all us neighbours let each other walk on each others land. its probably 150ha of land I have access to and Parks Board is 7km from my house.
I earn less than the city, but the lifestyle

Yep. For the three of us, the applicantion process with visas is going to cost about R130k, this excludes flying to Aus which is another R30k (one way).

I’m in the same boat with my WISP…

Tuesday, our connection went off around 07:30. They had us back up around 11am. Since then, we’ve been getting 5-8% packet loss, and most the time only hit half of our line speed. Submitted a ticket Tuesday night, followed up yesterday morning since they didn’t create the ticket. This morning, get a response:
“Client link is currently being utilized but unknown device.
Unable to inform client of which device is utilizing the link as it looks like client has own firewall onsite.”

Great, they checked our usage at the one time in the past two days we’ve had our full line speed… Didn’t even check the packet loss.

I’m about to flippin’ lose it

Yep I am just waiting for the boss to leave then I will call and check that they didnt close the ticket - if the closed it I will lose it

Try live chat if you need to be sneaky about calls
