R35 pm is really not that big a difference. (35 x 43 = 1505 = difference in excess between 2 options)

If you plan on claiming every 43 months or more, it might be worth paying the higher premium for the lower excess, otherwise, if you’re going to claim less than once every 43 months, go for the lower premium.

I have a very high excess. All minor damages less than the excess, I fix myself.

P.S. I’m not a financial advisor, I don’t even work in finance.

i see your point but even though i never claim i think the lower excess is nicer from the point of view of paying that amount in one go. ( i have my current excess currently in my savings pocket so that i would not have to go out of pocket in the event of losing my car but having that extra buffer of funds is always nice to have)
