I know which is why he is promising them water when the rest of us who actually pay for the fucking water is gonna have nothing. We are currently fighting the council - they say we used 32KL in nov - we have proof of the water meter readings which shows we didnt - we used maybe 9KL between 3 people and three dogs. And they keep saying but it’s an actual reading - when we have the little note saying they couldnt get in - bullshit since someone is always home… We have been emailing our readings in to them for almost a year now in anycase. . .
The people that don’t pay for it feel they have no responsibility towards it all. Which is why informal settlements are amongs the highest users of water even now. Along with fkcing Camps Bay who think they’re able to drink money.

So what I think is going to happen if taps are dry, poor areas will be lining up for water rations everyday because they unfortunately already queue for everything anyway, medium class will be buying water because aint nobody got time for that and we have jobs, the rich will just move to their other homes that have water in the meantime.
So as per usual the middle class which runs the country and drive sit forward gets shafted the most.
I’m wondering if retailers are going to be forced to abide by some kind of pricing regulations for water
The middle class has and always will foot the bill for all forms of mismanagement. And this is a case of mismanagement - fines for overuse of water should have applied 6 months ago already.
Now, they want to raise tariffs as if that’s going to solve a damn thing- we’re well beyond that stage already.
Instead of actively monitoring water consumption, the warning signs of which were there WELL in advance, the council and local government were in involved in politic showboating and all kinds of other crap.

Just spent an hour to get 80L of water for home and office use.
Not sure what to think of mmusi using the water crises as a way to go after the National Government.

As far as I’ve looked, no it doesn’t. It does however create this bookmark/applike thing on your device that you can connect to the site easily. Plus the mobile site has ALL the functionality of the proper site.
