Outriders - A Co-op RPG

Nah screw that noise. I played the demo with four classes so no way I was gonna start from scratch again. I just carried on with my Pyro. Love that class so much. Started to get some decent gear mods that compliment my build as well, even though it’s still early days.

Outside of the usual complaints and things that are already known, and I realise this is completely subjective, is that the world isn’t very interesting. I never have or find any reason to go exploring and I am always following the “golden path” and it seems to be a very linear process.

I saw the same in the demo, it is all very linear. Anthem was much better in that respect. I will see how long it takes to really bug me.

I understand it’s linear but they have so much potential in their world design, all those nooks and crannies, I instinctively go and explore them. But there’s nothing interesting there. And I’m not just talking about loot but in terms or world building and telling a story through the world.

In the demo I found a couple of story items that unlocked lore snippets, also found some harvesting nodes, but yes, I agree, they could do so much more.

Usual launch day issues, disconnects, servers not working. The technomancer is HARD to play, still enjoying it but it has suddenly become very challenging.

Exactly. I found it increasingly difficult to play the class. Devestator on the other hand, I feel like I am getting more and more powerful as I progress.

I got this gameplay changing skill called Tool of Destruction at about 10 or 11. With it and a few mods for it I can now face tank bosses. It is an amazing feeling.

The class is a lot easier now!

I see they’ve forced some down time…

Yep, the servers are putting a serious dent in my play time. I now have to add servers to a long list of pre-existing conditions that have to be observed for me to play, in order of importance: power\internet\family\servers.

In the time we did have last night, I join my friend in the UK’s game, he was 10 levels below me and it did the scaling very well. We both had a serious challenge plus the loot that dropped was scaled to our levels.

I also used my group heal, a lot. Felt good.

Noice! I’ve just hit level 11.

Was hitting a slight difficulty spike and tried a few times and thought about lowering the world tier. Switched around a few skills and gear and was able to take down the boss. Synergies seem to work well, would be nice to experiment in a group.

I am being plagued by disconnects.

Yup, looks like it is up now

I’ll be starting this tomorrow. What do you guys think of it so far?

Been playing a LOT of multiplayer with 2 friends on PC, it is amazing fun and very challenging. Having a healer helps a lot if you are playing higher world tiers, which makes me happy

My friends are far ahead of me in the campaign but I can join them, as long as I remember where my story point is, I can go back to it.

Great game. There are some bugs and the peer to peer nature makes it painful if the host lags or disconnects. So it is not perfect by any means.

We hit end game and after doing 2 expeditions it became painfully clear that a support play style was not going to help, at all. The group just kept getting overwhelmed. I am going to switch to an effective DPS build and sadly place my support/cc/heal build in the stash and wait for a more support friendly game mode to come out for the game.

Just a tip: the world tier has nothing to do with end game, at all. When you do expeditions, the world tier is gone and you start a new hamster wheel of progression. Getting your WT as high as you can in the open world is worth it though since you can get up to level 42 gear.
