Very sad news indeed. The South African gaming market is so small and it’s sad that sites like this go under and cannot continue to cultivate the market.

For those of you with younger children who might need a little inspiration…

10 years old. 31 million subscribers. $25 million in earnings in a year. No pressure.

I’ve banned my oldest from watching that kids show, I see he even has a video game too.

Don’t you have to be 13+ to have any kind of online account in most countries?

My oldest has made 3 episodes of Quinn’s Kitchen, a show where she makes easy recipes. The channel is under my name and I am old enough for Youtube.

Also on 31 subs, just like this kid. What? 31, yes, same. 31 MILLION you say? Oh… Nevermind then…

I would have guessed so too. Presumably some sort of “with clear parental consent” thing? YOuTube Kids is a thing. YouTube Kids.

Okay, that’s just adorable. Found her banana and chocolate spread wrap clip on ypur channel. Am now hungry. Yum

So those floors in the kitchen… what do you call them and where do you get them?

Polished concrete. It is the concrete on the floor that is polished to take the top 4/5mm off the top, and that exposes the aggregate within. I like it too but getting real tired of it real quick :joy:

Ok thanks. Is it very durable? Compared to tiles for instance?

It is solid concrete, 150mm thick. Super durable.

I was more referring to chips, scratches and cracks. Concrete tends to crack over time.

The polished concrete can last a long while if you have it done properly. Stellenbosch uni is using it in their dining halls now

Yes correct. Ours is half on the ground, half above downstairs.

Where it is a slab you get small cracks over the walls, but the engineer said if he knew we wanted to polish he could have adde more top rebar.

Where it is on the ground it is perfect.

Reminds me of a video I once saw where a woman bought a new Polo (I think) and drives it out the shop, across the road, over the middle barrier over the other side. Couldn’t drive at all. Think it was a government official who just got a new car, but don’t know how to find the video.

I saw it back in the day. Was a Golf IIRC.
