Retro gaming

I finished the Blade Runner game twice already. Played it when I was young and then at some point it became free I think and then played it again. And now it will come out again. Love that game.

N-n-n-n-NECRO!

Sega Mega Drive/Genesis classics is being discontinued Dec 26, 2024 on all major platforms. Last chance to get a digital copy. PS4 has is on sale for R95 right now for 50 games. Steam sells individual games too, but the bundle doesn’t seem to be on sale.

This is a good tip though! And if you wanted to you COULD run them in your own emulator / frontend

Found this “Mega-Drive and Genesis Classics” bundle:

Has 50+ titles all at R12 ^ each less 45%.

I’m getting significantly different pricing:

I’m guessing that you own a different subset of titles already?

Sorry. Silly typo. Was meant to say “R12 each

That makes more sense. Still great value! I’m seriously considering this to pop on an old laptop in front of the living room tv to show the nieces what their uncle grew up on, when they’re visiting in December…

That really is good selection of the classics. I still have a number of those cartridges along with a Mega Drive II I picked up from the UK.

I played through Light Crusader again recently and it’s still excellent.

That would be amazing and it is Mac compatible.

So the end of the year slow down has kicked in, so I installed Retro Assembly (https://retroassembly.com/) on my home server today, and have loaded a few classic games… from my collection… that I 100% bought in the 80s and 90s… but cannot find the original cartridges for… I promise, its legit!

Anyway, now I can play them from anywhere in the world and it keeps things like progress and high scores!

Now I am trying to get the best CRT filters after I saw Noodle’s video about how old games were made with CRT monitors and TVs in mind! I have been playing these all wrong!

i play a lot of retro games and i have old consoles like an nes clone and real mega drive 2 but i prefer to play the emulated versions of games rather on my Wii because the wii pro classic controller is so much more comfortable and better then those old controllers.

Do you mean recommendations from that whole generation?! There’s almost too much to mention  I’m sure you’ll have a great time with it.

It’s not quite retro (though it’s made by Retro Studios), but I’ve been having a blast playing through the Wii version of Metroid Prime 2. I love playing these games with the Wii-mote.
