We can maybe try again next week. Free fly is on until 5 Dec. I would recommend picking a quieter spot in the system; the area around Crusader perhaps. Easier to traverse and will have better framerates.

Yeah, was a good bit of fun last night, thanks guys. Canât believe it was midnight when we finished. Even with all the weird bugs and hiccups, the time flew past for me. Thanks @Sweepslag for hopping on and helping us out and @SIGSTART and @Dragonic for making up the first official Star Citizen MEW Crew!
Also was a great re-introduction to the game - a heck of a lot has changed since I was last in the SC universe. And itâs going to take a while for me to get used to things. Just getting out of the bed took me ages to figure out :D. And the less said about my attempt to take off from the hangar before I logged off the better! 
Other than the crappy frame rates around Area 18, the only thing that Iâm still bugged about is the stupid Crime Stat I got for killing @Dragonic as we got off the shuttle thing. I mean I barely touched him, and suddenly âHomicide reported! You are now a criminal!â Either the collision boxes are way too sensitive or Dragonicâs character is a weak arse snowflake who needs to hit the gym and bulk up a bit!

Oh yeah, thatâs a fact of life atm, unfortunately. Europe is as good as it gets. Thankfully, with Amazon building an AWS data centre in Cape Town, there is a chance things could improve drastically if CIG start spinning up servers here.

Big, big, huge, massive, gigantic quality of life improvement coming in 3.8. Every planet now gets a low orbit space station with habs thatâs above the main landing zone. So you can a) land there and take a smaller ship down to the planet instead of landing a big ship (some are too massive to enter atmo anyway). Also b) you can log out at the station and spawn there next time. No need to fly down to the planet anymore to respawn there. This will be a huge time saver, and should hopefully cut down on the Oh-crap-I-crashed-on-landing-now-Iâm-back-at-Olisar incidents.

So, after the podcast I am very interested in checking out Star Citizen. I have 2 questions:
- how playable is the game with kbd and mouse?
- when is the next free play event?

I prefer joystick because it feels more natural. If you have a controller, that will work just fine too. But you can get by with a mouse. The current free fly is on until 5 Dec, so jump in any time!

KBM is doable, many fly very well with it - thereâs a heck of a lot of keyboard controls though. Will find and link a printable set.

- Go here: https://robertsspaceindustries.com/download to create your account (but grab a referral code from the list in this threads OP first! Itâll only be of benefit if you eventually do buy into the game, but canât be added retroactively).

- Once your account has been created Step 2 will change to âPromotional Packageâ and then the Download Installer option should be available. Download, install and run that, and youâll be able to download the game files from inside the installer. Make sure to install the game onto an SSD!

While your download is running, take a moment to visit the website, log in, go to âAccount > Settings > Securityâ and activate 2FA for future safety and piece of mind.

And while youâre on the site, search for the other MEW Citizens in the Contacts Search box and Follow them (or just follow the links to their profile pages from the OP) to add them to your contacts list. When youâre in-game youâll be able to see if theyâre online or not. Oh and let us know your handle so that I can add you to the list as well.

Once youâre in-game, youâll spawn in a hab unit in Area 18 on ArcCorp. You should have access to an Avenger Titan ship to use. Alternatively, if you want to try out one of the IAE ships (or just look at them), you can rent them for free by visiting the Expo Hall - just follow the fairly obvious signs all over the place.
Couple of us are hoping to do another get together before the Free Fly ends, so keep an eye on this thread for when that happens and join us if you can.
