So that old card is now officially in the machine, we have updated both pcs to the dodgy 2004 windows 10, but Nima has found it more stable and a lot of my weird sound issues are sorted out.
Now to see if the reboots still happen or not. If not then I start saving up for a new secondhand gfx card
The scroll wheel on my irreplaceable mouse (Swiftpoint Z, Kickstarted) seems to be broken.
When I scroll the wheel, it’s like the mouse is trying to scroll up and down at the same time.
Scrolling down is not as broken, but even then the window that I’m trying to scroll will randomly scroll up while I’m trying to scroll down.
Scrolling up is almost completely busted. When I scroll up, the window often scrolls down instead. Mostly nothing happens. Occasionally, it actually scrolls up.
Is this something that can be fixed with cleaning?
Sounds like dust (probably lint), it is not uncommon, cos there’s literally a mouse wheel sized hole for the dust to get in. But only way to be sure, is to open it.
Can’t be as bad as the 2 mice i have with partially broken cables… partially … partially … PARTIALLY
I see EC2 (with loadbalancer) and VPC is there. Haven’t tried the local stuff yet though. I imagine it’s pretty much the same experience as any other region.
Oh yes, I’ve heard of them. That’s not a bad price at all. Also added to my list
Ya, that AWS stuff can be hectic. At least you can set limits, which is great if you don’t have anything mission critical running (afaik)
Ok, so I’m getting fed up with my Xbox controller. I can look up, down and left without issues, but looking right takes forever / stutters (thus using the right joystick). It has been doing this since I can remember so don’t know if the controller broke at some point or if that is just how it has always been.
Anybody have an idea of possible causes (and fixes)?
