Sounds pretty cool!

I’m not exactly sure what that is, but it sounds like an oxymoron

Oh! You should organize something. I’m down a couple kilos, but I still have a ways to go.

Whereabouts did you go? North coast, South coast?

Yep, that’s my go-to waffle join while we’re down here. That whole centre is pet friendly too, which suits us just fine .

If they are pet friendly, we’ll definitely check them out. Unfortunately the place we’re staying isn’t that nice for leaving Sydney home alone.

Hello! Whereabouts in KZN did you go?

Morning people of the palace

I gotta love the ladies in Welgemoed - we had 4 hysterical ladies who were packing after the first earthquake cos they believed we will be swamped with a tsunami. The second one got 1 lady was on her way to jhb to get away from the wave . . . .

Haaaaaaaaaaaai Donsie!

Morning everyone.

While planning my day and week, my mood suddenly took a divebomb…

… I really have a dislike for unproductive meetings.

The recent merger between the smaller totally software dev driven company I work for and a huge company that want to use our expertise, brought me face to face the massive amount of “agile” meetings dev have every damn day. Huge waste of time.

So much so that when it was my turn to give feedback I said: What am I doing today? Hopefully my job, if there is time between these meetings.

I am pushing heavily for a less agile approach with a lot less stupid, useless meetings, like a bi-weekly feedback session instead.

Agreed. My way of leveraging into this is just to blame the meetings and meeting lengths when I am unable to meet deadlines on deliverables.

I also refuse to do “work” while in said meetings. Like they’ll say, “you can just listen in while you’re working” — so do you want my attention or are you wanting to repeat yourself whenever you want my input? I find it extremely rude to not pay attention in meetings and having to repeat yourself to another person.

Anyway… enough ranting, I think I have a thread for this as well

Halloos

So given that was out of work for the majority of this year and that I recently found employment at a place that is somewhat risqué and sometimes borders on that of a religious cult, I now have a further offer of employment this time from a very reputable law firm…

the thing is Risqué place pays really well, its not that busy and I can do a lot of personal errands etc during work hours. It is 24km away from home though which means I have to negotiate traffic everyday.

the law firm is a stone throw away from home, the environment is much more structured and I will be working extremely hard. they are however offering R7k(nett) less than the cult…

FYI I am able to pay everything i need to on the salary that the law firm offers and can technically also save.

I honestly dont know what to do…I need to decide today…

That is gonna be a difficult one, Wens, how are you enjoying the cult situation? And do you want to give up the less stress for more stress and less monies?

thats the thing, the cult isnt a cult everyday…
a part of me wants the familiar structure that a law firm offers but I also like to do stuff I want to do when I want to do them.

the hubby is all for taking the big money and running as he says the difference is just to drastic to compare the two
