Congratulations @czc !!

I’m high school, => 80% is a distinction, graduate level it’s => 75%.

@GregRedd , Afaik honours is determined at the onset of studies already, it speaks to the volume of work tackled, rather than the marks attained.

Hello julle! What a lovely day here at the north coast of KZN!

The family has decided to brave our home on Thursday, so Dischem just delivered foggers to clean our house for them. I have no idea how these works but it will be fun to see who passes out last when I set them off

I am getting a new PC set up this week. Table, Chair, monitor. Apartment upgrades are starting to happen even when being an hour behind SA

Does that mean you’re Covid clear and symptom free now? Just in time for New Years - hope you’re not planning on testing your immunity levels at a NYE party with randoms now that you’ve had it! :joy:

I think I am 99% there. Still get tired like an old man. And no, its not because I am an old man…

We were joking that all of us sickies can have Christmas in the RAGE tent together! But for some RAGE is still a sensitive topic.

Glad to hear you are getting better @oltman

The foggers are fun, but you need to set them off and clear out for at least 4 hours

We use them in the shop every night, and setting them off is fun, not so fun when someone (not me I swear) forgot their house keys in the shop and needs to run in and get it.

Honours is an extra year of studies on top of a normal degree length. A few specific courses have the honours year automatically included, but in many cases it refers to the year after Bachelors, or the first half of the Masters program.

At uni, 75% gives you a distinction. At UCT if you do a research based Masters you can also get a distinction in the coursework and/or a distinction in the dissertation. These are reflected separately on the degree certificate.

In unrelated news, we just had two very loud bangs (dare I say ‘explosions’) here in Centurion, a few minutes apart. First one definitely sounded like an explosion. Second one sounded slightly different but also quite a big bang. There was a Heli circling and then some woo-woo vehicles could be heard too. Quiet now, though.

Oooh. It’s so disconcerting when stuff like that happens and you don’t quite know what’s going on. Did you ever work it out?

Someone doing a pre-test of their New Years fireworks? Maybe something at the cricket stadium (although it was way past the end of the day there)? I know there was some on-field fireworks at the test match there yesterday.

Good morning everyone. I’ve slept 4 hours, but not because of being a new parent. My sleep cycle is all kinds of crazy right now.

Good day y’all.

I still have so much stuff I wanted to get to around the house but family and wife keeps me with going here or there and doing this or that. At least out new couch is coming tomorrow, supposedly, tired of sitting on a blow up mattress.

Keep calm Z keep…

Yes Mr CTO. Did I say let’s test other SPF connectors I ordered as these don’t seem to be working?
CTO. No they are correct I ordered them.

I tested SPF connections that I ordered while no one is at the office and OMG I can’t believe they work I must be a wizard.

Yeah we needed a new one as the old one we were practically sitting the floor :joy: not sure how good of an idea it was but we bought it through Takealot.

So the Mrs found this quaint little place called Melkbossies, up in Melkbosstrand. What a wonderful little establishment and great place for kids and family. Costs very little as no entrance fees or anything, they just ask for donations. We bought a little from their Shoppe like a hotdog and cooldrink bit other than that, quite inexpensive.
