No chance. If Ricciardo could win last year with 150hp missing from his engine, them Hammy can hang on with old tyres.

My bloody nerves. Max having a peek at every opportunity and Hamilton is all over the place. Jissis

The thing with Monaco is that you could win with a horse and buggy if you can prevent anyone from passing you. That is irrelevant if you park it in the pool

Aaaaaaaand Max bumps Hamilton…

Please no puncture, please no puncture

You can relax now, it’s all over…

Those last couple of laps were the most stressful ones to watch. Monaco 2019 definitely wasn’t a snorefest

Good race for Sainz and McLaren as well. They’re consolidating fourth place nicely.

Wow, that was a great Monaco GP. Everyone expected a snorfest, and we were treated to one of the better Monaco GP in recent years

Well done to Lewis Hamilton. What a drive!! To keep that car going on the wrong tires for so long is nothing short of amazing! When Will Buxton compares it to the 1992 race between Senna and Mansel, I think he may be right. That battle between Verstappen and Hamilton was great. And stressful right until the end.

Verstappen was very unlucky with the penalty. Yes the FIA was lenient, but I think the right call was made. The poor pitstop crew had now way of seeing any other garage with the madness that was the pitstops during the safety car. But Verstappen drove extremely well. He kept the pressure on Hamilton for the whole race, and never made it easy for him. Not one second. That was awesome. Verstappen is honestly in this season showing he is destined for greatness, he just needs the right car.

Vettel had a boring race, but he did keep his cool and managed his pace well. Bottas was very unlucky with the pitstops. Seems like Mercedes hadn’t made a mistake the entire year, then in one race they make two, first with putting Hamilton on the wrong tires, and telling Bottas to hold the field up before the pitstops. That surely put him in contact with Verstappen.

Carlos Sainz had a blinder of a race. That pass he made on the Torro Rosso’s on the OUTSIDE up to Casino Square was probably the pass of the race. The balls it took to do that was impressive. Glad for McLaren having a good race. They seem to be well placed to be the 4th best team this season. What a change from last year.

Torro Rosso is performing on another level. People keep on criticizing Kvyat, but he has had an incredible season so far, and he is driving very well. And Albon is by far the Rookie of the year. If you go back in this thread you will see me write off Albon at the start of the season. Boy was I wrong!! You’re looking at the next great Red Bull driver in Albon.

Special mention must be made to George Russel. In the Williams with all its problems, he came in at a respectable 15th, beating both Alfa drivers and Stroll, and was on pace with the cars in front of him.

It was a shame that strategy was the downfall of Riciardo and Magnussen. Both looked competitive, but pitting during the safety car for them didn’t work out.

Overall I really enjoyed the race. Was an exciting race despite not having a lot of passes. This one should go down in the history books as a great race for Hamilton, definitely my driver of the day.

Weirdly Max was my driver of the day. Yes I am still not a huge fan, but he has matured a lot over the holiday. He earned my respect yesterday. Where that penalty in the past would have snapped something, he drove like a champ. I felt bad that Ferrari messed up LeClerc so badly during qualies.

Seriously the call for new strategists for Ferrari and Renault has to be made.
Sainz is my someone to watch, I think he is on a roll, it does help that the Macca’s made a HUGE leap forward from last year.

My favourite moment was that parking job the guys did thanks to Gio and Kimi. I think their reactions and the VERY slowness of this track made sure that this wasnt bad at all. I just was impressed that no one touched.

Yes this wasnt the worst Monaco, I still had periods where I dosed off.

I could not stand Lewis’ whining! But he drove well to hold off Max.

Did anyone see the close call where Perez nearly hit a marshal during the safety car? Sooo close!

Something that I hardly heard mention of this weekend:

Kimi’s 300th race. . . .

LeClerc messed up all on his own, the team ended up as innocent bystanders to a frustrated youngster that wanted to prove he can get on the podium from the back of the grid at his home GP in the 3rd fastest car on the track ignoring the fact that it’s a notoriously difficult track to drive on an almost impossible to overtake opponents.

No I ment in his Qualis, he made a mess of the race all by himself. That first pass on gros was epic, then he went to far instead of keeping his head and being a little patient

Nobody really heard much because its a number that means nothing to Kimi.

So… Rumor has it that Vettel is retiring

Bottas to Ferrari? Verstappen to Mercedes?

That’s good to hear if it’s true, sad for him that he could not win at Ferrari but he wasn’t really doing as great. Schumacher is probably still too young(I assume he would go to Alfa first) so I wonder who they’ll put there. Move Kimi back?
