If this does end up being the case then Iāll have to support Alonso. Not a big fan though.
He is the problem, yes he is an icon, but I am starting to think the living legend needs to take a chill pill
That would set a very bad precedent, imo.
A) Renault should be looking at the younger drivers to bring in fresh blood that they can afford.
B) Liberty should certainly not be interfering by paying a driver/team like thisā¦
Iām my opinion, Renault should not touch Alonso if they have any hope at being competitive. He single handedly drove McLaren into the ground, and his time at Ferrari left them in shambles. If I was Renault, I would look at Guanyu Zhou. I believe he is a good choice to bring into the team.
Apparently a big problem with that is that he doesnāt have enough points on his super license yet. Neither does Lungard.
Oh no I didnāt know that. That sucks, because I believe from the current crop of F2 drivers, he has shown the most promise.
And is in real risk of not getting those points this year if we donāt go racing!
Surely there are other drivers that do qualify, though? Or look at the current F1 test drivers, thereās more than enough talent thereā¦
I still wonder if Bottas wonāt consider a move to Renault. I like the guy, would be nice to have him there.
That would be really interesting, but kinda just shifts the problem, since Mercās succession drivers are Ocon and Russell. I doubt even Toto could get Ocon away from Renault now, does Williams have another pay driver lined up?
Imagine this line up and pretend not to be super excited! Still trying to consider Vettel in Alpha with Schumacherā¦
Merc:
- Hamilton
- Russell
Ferrari:
- Leclerc
- Sainz
Red Bull:
- Verstappen
- Albon
McLaren:
- Norris
- Ricciardo
Renault:
- Zhao
- Ocon
Alpha Tauri
- Gasly
- Kvyat
Alpha Romeo
- Schumacher
- Raikkonen
Aston Martin:
- Perez
- Stroll
Williams
- Bottas
- Latifi
Bloody hell what a lineup!! That would make the next generation of F1 so interesting!!
Seeing those two names under the same team banner - Ferrariās obviously - was something I dreamt of seeing in the mid-2000s before both Michael and Kimi retired for their respective first times. I could definitely get behind supporting the pairing under the Alfa Romeo banner.
That was the idea behind it. If we cant have senior, lets have junior.
SkySports interview with Zak Brown, following the loss and gain of 2 great drivers.
I would be so happy if Bottas goes to Renault.
