Because you donāt want him in Merc, or because you do want him in Renault?
There have been stranger driver moves in the past I guess - anything is possible in F1 these days. If VB does go to Renault, I wonder if Seb would be tempted to take up the #2 seat at Mercedes? They are already so dominant - image if their driver lineup could boast 10 WDC titles!
The annual Jewel in the F1 Crown - the Monaco Grand Prix - was due to be run this weekend. But then, coronavirusā¦
So F1.com will be hosting the Virtual Monaco Grand Prix instead. And in addition to a number of the regular virtual drivers weāve seen take part in the online race series so far, Valtteri Bottas and Esteban Ocon are both scheduled to make their virtual GP debuts in the race.

Interesting, but that thread title is not really accurate as Redditors point out in the comments:
This is incorrect. Berkshire Hathaway owns 15.2% of LSXMK and 14.7% of LSXMA, which are the ticker symbols for Sirius XM, which are also owned by Liberty Media Corp. You could argue that Berkshire Hathaway owns some percentage of Formula 1 by proxy, but strictly speaking, theyāre invested in Sirius XM only.
Buying F1 stock would either be FWONK or FWONA which is Liberty Media directly.
Yeah, allegedly itās not all that obvious from the screenshot, and you need to drill down through the links to various SEC filings to find the specifics. Seriously boring anorak things. Thinking itās F1 shares is a lot more interesting
Hot on the heels of the McLaren Group announcementā¦ German media reporting that Diamler Motors will be going through a similar reorganisation process, and itās F1 programme will be affected by changes. Added to that, the same sources are saying that Toto Wolff will be announcing that he us stepping down as Mercedes F1 Team Principal at the end of the 2020 season!
Only recently Wolff had indicated that a continuation of his operative function in the Mercedes team is questionable: āItās not only a question of whether I will now extend my contract as team boss, but also of what we will continue to do with this joint company. And thatās what weāre discussing right nowā, the Austrian said in an interview with the āORFā, published on 16 May. /translated/
That statement is now, seemingly, about to be confirmed.
The information that Wolff will announce his withdrawal from his operational activities is now considered reliable.
What isnāt yet clear is exactly what Wolffsā future role with Mercedes or Formula 1 will be.
I heard earlier this week that Toto bought stock in Aston Martin, and since Aston Martin road cars use Merc engines, and the F1 team too, they might turn into a āBā team, like Alpha Tauri. There was even speculation that Toto will move to the Aston Martin team, but this is pure speculation. Personally I cannot see that happening.
