Jissie⌠That was chaos⌠Super happy for Carlos!
Le Clerc did well to recover after messing up his own race.
That 5 man race dou⌠Ffffff amazing.
An Mick finally gets his points, almost didnât again, trying to be too aggressive against Verstappen.
Also Perez outta nowhere. So many ands
last few laps was good racing
GG WP for Carlos he pushed hard to get this win
That proved to be a very entertaining race, lots of good battles on track!
I have no words for this race. I almost lost my voice shouting at the tvâŚ
Had a doggo in the way most of the race
On another note, quite amazing that Zhou merely got checked out at the medical centre and Albon ended up in Hospital.
Zhou Guanyu with a literal halo. Serious guardian angel stuff. What an insane accident.
Great race all round. So happy for Carlos. So grumpy that Ferrari could easily have had a 1-2 if theyâd pitted Charles at the start of the Ocon SC too. Great drive by Checo too. And a special bit of irony possibly if it turns out that Maxâs floor damage was caused by carbon from Checoâs damaged wing. Nice to see the Mercs (well, Lewis at least) competitive again - some great racing in the closing laps.
Sprint Race and Austrian GP next Sunday at Red Bullâs home circuit. Max needs a good run there to show a return to form.
What the hell were those utter idiots protesting about? The sheer stupidity to think that whatever your issues are they entitle you to put the lives of others in danger so that you can make a point that is going to be completely ignored anyway?
I think they went onto the circuit after the formation lap, before the start? If it wasnât for the accident, the race would have been red flagged anyway because of them.
ETA:
Okay, F1 / FIA saying it happened after the red flagâŚ
But then again, that says âattempted to enter the trackâ. The pictures suggest that they got a lot further than just attempting.
Do we even know what they were protesting?
Climate activists fascists called Just Stop Oil. Been doing stupid shit like this for a while now. Chain themselves to goalposts at football matches, last week a couple of them glued themselves to the frame of a Van Gogh painting in an art gallery for some reason.
Hasnât made an iota of difference other than convincing more people that theyâre a bunch of âstupid twatsâ and turning everyone off from what is a really important message.
Even had Lewie having to back pedal on his initial support when it became clear that they had actually breached the fences and invaded a live F1 circuit. They were on the Wellington Straight. They, and a host of marshallâs risking their lives because of these chops, were saved by the Zhou red flag.
Erm.
This is big.
So big I donât trust the Citizen to break the story yet.
Iâm off to look for other sources in stead of sleeping!
lol this
Getting suited, booted and all zipped up in preparation for the weekend. Itâs RAWE CEEK in Austria!
Found this very stylish F1 results and stats tracker on Tableau.

Thatâs fantastic! Very helpful to see the data represented like that.
2022 Austrian Grand Prix
Round 11 | Red Bull Ring | Spielberg
Red Bull Racings home circuit. The Orange Armyâs favourite stand after Zandvort. Their man Max with three of the last four victories here. (His electronics failing early in 2020 all that stopped him claiming four from four.) And with it being a Sprint Race Grand Prix weekend, there is twice as many P1 trophies for the Bulls beneath Max and Checo to look to claim this weekend.
Itâs not going to be drive in the park for them though. Mercedes, after their Silverstone upgrades and Lewisâ good performance there, must be feeling, well, bullish. So too the Ferrari pair. Carlos still on his first pole and first victory high, and Chuck eager to show that he still deserves to be Pappa Mattiaâs favourite.
All the makings of an excellent weekend of F1-ing. I hope your load shedding schedule is kind to you. Or, like me, you havenât used too much of your monthy data package yetâŚ
The Wheels of the Car go Round and RoundâŚ
Once it was the Osterreichring. Then, for a while, it was the A1-Ring. Now itâs the Red Bull Ring. One of the shorter laps on the F1 calender, both in terms of circuit length and lap time, the circuit is a driver and fan favourite.
Hereâs a great 360° camera view of Valterri Bottasâs 2018 Pole Lap:
Austrian Time / African Time. Same Same
Time in the Austrian Alps works the exact same as it does here. So they have that right. Sprint Race weekend remember, so just the two Practice sessions, Qualifying later this afternoon (Friday) at 17:00, with the Sprint Race at 16:30 tomorrow (Saturday), and the Grand Prix proper at the normal time on Sunday.
Partly Cloudy with a Chance of Schnitzel
The weekend weather looks generally okay. Temperatures are cool after recent European heat waves, and it currently looks like most of the running will be in the dry. There is fairly heavy rain forecast for most of Sunday morning, and with the circuit being in the mountains, weather is very changeable, very quickly.
