The Official Nintendo Switch Thread

official news

I have blissfully been out of the loop I guess. This is exactly what I want though - more of the same.

I use my Switch everyday and love it! A bit more performance is needed and will hopefully make the older games even better. Also, the new Metroid was scheduled for 2025 too. A launch title maybe?

You and me both. So many people on the internet moaning that it’s not different enough or that Nintendo has stopped innovating. Blah, blah, blah. Shut up!

The only thing I wanted was a more powerful machine that can play all my old games (hopefully with a performance boost) as well as have some awesome new games (which it will, this is Nintendo). That’s exactly what they’re giving us.

@Wlad mentioned something about “Bloodborne 2.”

Yeah more or less lol:

The official description says multiplayer and it does give that vibe with the different characters.

Ja hells. I can understand the console pricing, but those game prices?!

Even the console pricing. They said $450US but that’s $650 with exchange to get it locally. You can get a PS5 for that price, and there’s a big gap in hardware if I heard correctly.

It also looks like the OG Switch prices have gone up, I remember seeing new ones for R7500 on takealot and they’re R8500 now.

Ah well, guess I will do without Nintendo games, and if I ever have the funds (likely never), I’ll get a steamdeck or clone.

I’m probably in the minority here but I don’t have a problem with the console price at all. It’s not like I can afford one anyway, but if I could I would gladly pay that. Call me crazy but I already have a PS5, series s and gaming PC. The last thing I want or need is a handheld PC, I want a new Nintendo console to play first party Nintendo games.

Games I agree are too expensive but I’ll just be playing BotW and TotK for the first year anyway.

This price is about as good as we can get with all the economic uncertainty. Once you add the VAT (at 15.5/16%), duties and clearance fees, it does become more understandable.

In the USA, Switch 2 pre-orders were delayed due to the tariffs, so there’s a lot going on!

On the topic of PS5 pricing:

Agreed. I like the Switch games and user experience. Pricing on games is mad though. Hopefully $80 isn’t the norm and that they introduce the Voucher system again.

Ya, I saw the PS5 announcement. Oh well, good thing I upgraded my PC last year  Just need to get a new GPU before those get hit too. Or stick with what I’ve got
