I see that The Last of Us has started and it is on ShowMax.

I’m interested in seeing how they do it. I know people make fun of the game, saying it’s more of a movie than a video game.

I’ve always disagreed with that, and feel that the game used subtle (but important) player interaction to become an effective narrative and interactive experience. This is especially true of the 2nd game.

So I am curious as to how it adapts to a passive format.

Just based on the response to Episode 1, I’d guess it’s adapted pretty well.

It is a zombie genre, I detest zombie anything but… I will give the first episode a watch. I will see if the story/actors are of a quality to overcome my innate dislike of zombies.

Jonathan Stroud! Wow. The other day my brother and I were talking about Harry Potter, and how many other good fantasy authors should get movie adaptations. Stroud, and his Bartimaeus books was one we both loved.

I’ve not read Lockwood, but I’m now keen on this show.

I watched the first episode of TLoU. Kind of surreal how close some of it is to the game. Quality start.

I SAW THAT!

I cannot wait! The cliffhanger from this season was too much for me, the whole of season 6 was unique. Still upset that these guys don’t get nominated, cos holy crap, AJ Buckley as Sonny was beyond this season. He stole the show for me.

TLOU - watched it, and enjoyed it. Never played the games just watched bits while Nima played. So no expectations beyond that is it good and entertaining.

I see that a new season of The Sinner has dropped. I loved the previous 3 seasons. A unique vibe to the detective, murder mystery genre.

I’m just going to say it: The Last of Us is hands down the greatest game-to-screen adaptation ever made.

Just three (of nine?) episodes in and I’m calling it: A near clean sweep of all the Primetime Emmy Awards across all of the Drama categories, and a raft of technical awards as well.

It’s so, so good. And just been confirmed for a second season too.
