Hulu - FX | 27 February | Mini Series | 10 Episodes
Blood will be spilled.
An epic saga of war, passion, and power set in Feudal Japan. Based on James Clavell’s novel, FX’s Shōgun is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Lord Yoshii Toranaga is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him, when a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village.
Posted about it late last year. Now has an official release date of 27 February, and a new extended (and gory) trailer. The fake blood budget must have been huge.
Tom Ripley, a grifter scraping by in early 1960s New York, is hired by a wealthy man to travel to Italy to try to convince his vagabond son to return home. Tom’s acceptance of the job is the first step into a complex life of deceit, fraud and murder.
Loving the black-and-white film noir treatment. John Malkovich, who played the Tom Ripley character in the 2002 movie, “Ripley’s Game” is in it too. (Check the trailer at 00:24).
Ninjas have fascinated the world with their mysterious and fearsome physical abilities… but what if they were still hiding in modern Japan? Watch an all-original story about the last ninja family — one that abandoned its identity in the wake of a past mission — facing a crisis that shakes the nation.
If I watch enough Japanese language content will I eventually be able to speak the language? Or even just understand more than three phrases?
You’re formally invited to step inside Palm Beach’s most exclusive club. Set during the powder keg year of 1969, Palm Royale is a testament to every outsider fighting for their chance to truly belong.
Loosely based on the novel “Mr. and Mrs. American Pie” by Juliet McDaniel, Palm Royale is a true underdog story that follows Maxine Simmons (Kristen Wiig) as she endeavors to break into Palm Beach high society. As Maxine attempts to cross that impermeable line between the haves and the have-nots, “Palm Royale” asks the same question that still baffles us today: “How much of yourself are you willing to sacrifice to get what someone else has?”
The trio are back! Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson and James May take on a perilous journey starting in Northwest Africa, which sees them (and their cars) tested to the limit to battle scorching temperatures and unforgiving terrain.
Richard, Jeremy, and James reunite to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Paris-Dakar rally, except they will have to rely on the speed and power of cheap modified sports cars instead of bespoke Dakar racers.

The darkly comedic six-episode series tells the story of life within the walls of a modern authoritarian regime as it begins to unravel.
After not leaving the palace for quite some time, Chancellor Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet) has grown increasingly paranoid and unstable when she turns to a volatile soldier, Herbert Zubak (Matthias Schoenaerts), as an unlikely confidant.
As Zubak’s influence over the chancellor continues to grow, Elena’s attempts to expand her power eventually result in both the palace and the country fracturing around her.
Follows a taxi driver whose life is turned upside down when he agrees to pick-up a Zimbabwean gangster mostly known for exploiting undocumented immigrants at the U.S. southern ports.
Not sure yet how to watch AMC+ content (or quite what AMC even is!) but this looks good enough to figure something out. Also, it’s got a Zimbo character in it, which is unusual enough and makes me doubly curios to watch it.
Hulu (Disney+?) | 28 March | Limited Series | 8 Episodes
