The Outer Worlds

That charge up annoyed me. At the end both my LMG and Flamethrower were doing over 2k DPS

And installed and started late last night - I am hoping I can change the FOV - at the moment it is triggering my motion sickness

you can, but you are going to vomit on your keyboard every time you sprint

I take it back. The more I play the game the more I like it. Once you leave the starting planet Iā€™ve really been enjoying the game.

The opposite for me. I was bored by the end of it.

Made my way to Monarch over the weekend. Iā€™m with @Solitude on this one, the more I play the more I like the game. Iā€™ve just had fun in the game, and itā€™s just getting better and better. The side missions have such great writing and interesting twists and turns.

I dunno. Iā€™m still stuck on the first planet. Made my choice for the Botanical Gardens or Edgewater and promptly quit the game to get back to Stellaris. It really isnā€™t grabbing me at allā€¦

You are not the only one, I am giving it a chance, and am going to the botanical gardens - I think what stops the immersion for me thus far is the fact I have to move away every few minutes to make me not puke.

You know, the weird thing is that this game gives me motion sickness to some degree as well. Things I found that triggered it are:

  • Playing at a low FPS. I didnā€™t have an EU plug adapter with me when I fired the game up first, so my laptop went to ā€œstamina modeā€, which lowered FPS considerably. I couldnā€™t stand more than 5 minutes without feeling queasy.
  • Playing it on my laptop screen at a reduced brightness. I realised playing on a larger 23" screen at home feels better than playing at a reduced brightness, smaller screen, which also induced some motion sickness.

I donā€™t often get motion sickness in games, but thereā€™s just that something in this game that brings me right to the edge.

I am getting some stuttering / almost loading seconds which irritates me, but I am going to play with the settings, its the way the plants/background moves that makes me sick

This is a more eloquent way of explaining some of the reasons why I love The Outer Worlds so much.

Thread necro!!

So Iā€™ve been giving this another go. I enjoyed the game first time I played it, but never finished it. I recently restarted the game, and holy shit itā€™s even better the second time around!!

Iā€™ve already completed all the missions through to Monarch and only have a handful of missions there left. The game is just so much better than I remember, and the stories are all so varied and fun

There is a DLC coming soon

DLC is out on Wednesday I think. Definitely want to play it but have a lot on my plate right now, I still have my save from when I finished the game so Iā€™ll probably just carry on with it even though I wanna do a fresh playthrough.

And done. I actually finished the game. It was a good experience, really loved my time with the game. Although I feel like there is more to explore in the world, as I never even went to Scylla.

The story got a bit meh at the end, and I totally get what reviewers said when this came out about the narrative. Despite that I did enjoy the game.
