Oooooooo very nice!

I’ve got an ultrawide but it’s not that big. I want one like that!

It is the AOC 32:9 49". Absolutely gorgeous image, minimal tearing, and now I can whip my hair back and forth, checking side mirrors and what not. Wife jokes that maybe she can see all the columns in excel now

I’ve been less and less keen to use VR. I don’t like things that don’t look good, immersiveness be damned. Oculus has stopped support for the Rift S, so…

  • oculus software crashes games often (especially dirt rally 2.0)
  • steamvr doesn’t work well enough to use, but it has better features and overlay support
  • no overlay support, means i never know who the hell joined a discord channel
  • games stutter, unless i drop graphics to absolute crayon detail
  • oculus software keeps forgetting my settings and I have to setup the fucking thing from scratch
  • Rift S keeps disconnecting on bootup, and I need to physically unplug USB first, then display port, and hope it works, or reboot pc again, rinse repeat
  • With a 24 car grid, i sit at 45 fps, which is nauseating sometimes, with settings dropped to lowest
  • ACC’s optimisation for VR is disgusting, but a race with a screen, is :ok_hand:
  • I can’t make nice replay videos in Dirt Rally 2.0, cos oculus software sucks :horse: :eggplant:

One day, when the HP Reverb G2 is sold here, that’ll be the next toy. For now, i’ll use the thing that sparks joy, a screen that is wider than my nephew is tall

Probably never will be, best is to buy off Amazon. Btw, how did you buy your Rift and Rift S?

Rift from amazon, before customs gave me problems. Rift S from local store. There’s always small fry stores somewhere looking to the take the risk on warranty support. I prefer that, even if it’s more expensive.

I never liked the looks of a wooden rig, but if they are designed by an F1 engineer? Sign me up!

Urgh, what is that disease called? CUD? Constant Upgrade Syndrome?

My Thrustmaster wheel is looking a bit worse for wear, and I am always looking out for more wheels that I can use on my Thrustmaster now, and then one day when I am big still use it on a potential DD wheel.

Came across these guys recently. Wow! Quality! But also, Wow! Expensive!

Anyway, jsut sharing the rig love here.

Real drivers drive open wheelers, the pinnacle of the sport… Wanna-be drivers failed and called it drifting…

Real drivers don’t need electronics to help them. They match revs with gear shifts manually. All the legends are calling open wheel drivers cute :stuck_out_tongue:

My dad asked me once when last I had rotated the wheels on my car.

I said they rotate every time I drive.

Those are some awesome wheels, but if I had a Thustmaster I would wishlist THIS WHEEL and get it the moment it becomes available again. The screen has recently been updated for iRacing and ACC as well
