Ah ok, i understand. Just for people who use other dns.
No I’m on Frogfoot, if that’s what you mean. But it seems to be working now again at least.
About the afrihost thing, yeah I saw they also get attacked, but i watch them on downdetector and they seem to sort things out a lot quicker. I don’t mind downtime, but not for days at a time. Getting a bit much.
From what I understand weirdly Cool Ideas are being hit harder than the other ISP’s why I cannot tell you. And I don’t want to move from them for something that is technically not their fault - sure if my line was constantly kak I would move.
But they have been awesome to help - we even got a new router and they managed to get MTN to replace the ZTE router here fast.
But I am just tired of the struggles, and I would love to know why these attacks? If there was a reason like them being horribly corrupt (aka telscum) I could understand it. But these attacks, there is just so much that the companies can do. And isnt Cool Ideas technically still a small company compared to some of the other ISPs
Because being an ISP is “easy”; Paul Butschi and Andre Jooste are smart guys, but ultimately they don’t have skilled staff to deal with this. They’re focused on making the most amount of money by spending the least amount possible. Any half decent team networking professionals can mitigate the impact of these types of attacks.
Hope you had l a lekker weekend and that your day hasn’t kicked you in the face. My day started with one of our delivery bakkies giving me kak so have to sort that out and then sorting out our warehouse aswell so this is just fucking great.
So I hope you all are having one kickass awesome day
