They would be wrong to disagree with you.
You’re wrong
Up until, but not including endgame, the game is fantastic, fresh design of skills, story is entertaining, humour is less cringey and more wholesome.
Endgame hits and then the sky turns dark, it’s unfulfilling, grindy, boring, lacking content and creativity. There aren’t enough variety in viable endgame items, endgame content is just endless arenas. Borderlands 3 proved, mayhem modifiers are garbage toxic ideas, implemented badly, and they put that kak in again.
Regular playthroughs with friends, and you’ll have a stellar time. Playthrough with the goal to get to endgame and challenge yourself the way Borderlands franchise intends, and it will fade by the wayside, a blip in history. People are already going back to Borderlands 3 and 2. Steam daily numbers are up again, on the old stuff, and fell off a cliff on Wonderlands.
At-me or don’t at-me.
And herein lies the difference between us. I care not one iota about endgame. Yes, I know I was raving about Chaos Chambers because I thought finally end game stuff I like, but I played it for a fair bit and eventually I was over it. I would much rather do a fresh playthrough with a different class. I’m just waiting for the new class then I’ll do exactly that. For me, grinding for better gear gets old very fast. What even is the purpose? So you can farm for even more gear faster?
So you say Bl is intended for endgame. I say it is not. We are, of course, both entirely correct. It’s different things for different people.
I played BL2 for well over 500+ hours across multiple platforms and I think I’ve fought one or two raid bosses ever. On PC alone I have three different saves for just Krieg. For me BL (and by extension WL) is about the journey. I like playing through the campaign with different builds.
I’m quite keen to try play BL3 again after I heard about a mod that changes things up this week.
The hamster wheel of most looters/MMOs. I am like @Wlad, I played BL2 through with multiple characters, I like experimenting with builds. I played BL3 with all the DLCs the same way. The “classes” of TT looks interesting for replayability. I will do end game for a teeny bit and restart.
Great fun! Playing a sporewarden and already planning my multiclass. I really want to play graveborn and I realise that the 2 will make an amazing multiclass BUT, I also want to play the graveborn on another play through. Eish choices choices
“Fuse the ores apprentice! Fuse the ores!”
This game is so funny
Finished it, 44 hours of good fun. Not feeling like treadmilling chaos chamber runs though. Will shelve it for a bit and come back doing a completely different character build, probably something melee related since my first play through was all guns, range, pets and spells.
New class is coming with last DLC mirror. No date, but my guess is this Thursday when the game comes to steam as well. New class is called Blightcaller.
Edit: My guess is probably wrong. The third DLC isn’t even out yet.
