No banana - even the smell of it makes me naar.

I stay away from it

Its the smell, the texture the mush the everything.

Its the same why I cannot handle avo’s that texture is really not for me.

I can understand that. I personally like 'em raw, but not cooked. Banana bread is fine, or bananas sliced on toast, but anything else, no way.

And anything banana flavoured can go straight to the trash. I think it stems back to the time as a kid I had to take liquid penicillin which was banana flavoured.

Don’t get me started.

OMG! Avo is awesome!

Now I’m going to have to find out when :avocado: Guacamole Appreciation Day :avocado: is, and will be sure to tag you both in all of the recipes I can find.

Yeah totally, don’t give me a banana shake for example. That’s just plain giff.

Ah yes, still one of my favourites!

If you do, I’ll try those recipes, then send pics of the aftermath in my bathroom.

Even though I hate the texture, my old boss gave me 3 avos. I know they’re a superfood, and trying to eat healthy, I ate half an avo and eggs on toast. I didn’t mind it too much. I spent the next day and a half between bed and bathroom. I wreaked havoc on my digestive system.

A year or so later, my parents were visiting, and we went to Roco Mamma’s. I ordered the chicken burger they had on special, but I told them not to put the avo on. The waitress was new and didn’t really listen. I knew the junior manager, so I called him over, told him to make it again, as avo makes me violently ill. They essentially scraped it off, fried it again, put triple sauce on and a new bun. Spent another 1.5 days sick.

At least the three of us got a free meal, so I ordered the rib/wings combo and a shake. Not worth it, but the combo was pretty good.

I realise I don’t really have any food hangups. There’s stuff I don’t really enjoy (like asparagus, beetroot and mussels), but nothing I’ll downright refuse to touch or smell.

I can admit to being extremely fussy, but I will work with most foods. I will also try everything once and then make up my mind.

Bananas are great as bread or muffins.

On another note, when I was I Ghana I had the opportunity to try Plantains. Those are also quite tasty fried.

Are you saying I lost a ‘n’ somewhere?

I think he’s saying exactly that. But it is always amusing when those doing the correcting make mistakes themselves. It’s almost like you can see the vain vane’s veins pulsing with embarrassment.

hahaha I’ll blame it on stupid autocorrect.

Oh man! What I wouldn’t give for properly home baked, fresh banana bread. The stuff they sell in supermarkets is just not the same.

There must be a nice tuisnywerheid in Durban somewhere that sells fresh banana bread daily?

kom kuier… we’ll treat you to some, along with miliebrood.

That’s a very broad question, “Durban” is a big place.

I see there is a Vida and a place called Nü near where we’re staying that serve banana bread, but holy cow is Nü’s is expensive!

haha yeah, screw that noise.

Like I mentioned earlier, I love Vida’s bananana bread, just be sure to ask them to toast it and butter. Also somewhat pricey but I think you get a fair share. Should be two slices of about 2cm thick.
