There is an abundance of driving and racing games featuring four-wheeled vehicles. And a few featuring vehicles with even more than four wheels. Accompanying all those games are all the posts, videos, articles, topics, and comments the popular games and franchises attract. When it comes to games featuring vehicles with fewer than four wheels though, the opposite seems true.
I love me some Ride 4 and MotoGP, unfortunately, MotoGP 22 is far too much for my liking but has been on my radar now for a while. I still actively play Ride 4 and love it, would like to get the season pass at some point.
I also quite enjoy TT Isle Of Man: Ride on the Edge 2, has a very niche feel but I like its specialised approach and the feeling of speed is great.
Used to be an avid mountain biker, and while it comes across as one I don’t think it is. It’s essentially a downhill racer, it really nails the sense of speed and has leaderboards to chase, it’s hella fun though. It really has you chasing those perfect lines and keeps you in the action which is essential for this style of gameplay.
Best motorcycle games imo is Tourist trophy and Moto GP 07 on the Xbox 360
None of the newer games i have played comes close to those titles in any way
Rims is trying too hard, ride series just feels off in a sense. isle of man looks great but the handling is just too hardcore. there is no way to properly simulate bike physics with a controller so why they are trying to get it soo acurate doesnt make sense, there needs to be some compensation in the handling model, im surprised they pulled it off so well in project gotham 4 also
That was the one that used the same engine as Gran Turismo, right? I never got to play it, but do remember that it was because of it that I learned that the “TT” in Isle of Man TT doesn’t stand for Time Trial
Maybe I should add “currently” to the end of the post title?
It is a long shot, but with MotoGP20 leaving Game Pass at the end of this month, it could be that MotoGP21 gets added? It’s not the newest edition, but it did get some excellent updates, improvements and new features, so could hold you over until 22 gets the same, or heavily discount in the end of year sale maybe.
I tried out MotoGP 21 after getting it on sale on Steam. I’m just not that into bike racing to really get stuck into the game, but I can totally see the appeal. Seeing as motorbike games and “simulators” are much more difficult to properly immerse yourself into with peripherals, unlike 4 wheeled racing games where you can easily play with all kinds of steering wheels and such, the controls of the game have to be good for the controller. And the little bit I played, it was damn sure the issue was never the control scheme or using a controller. Playing MotoGP with a controller was a joy!
Yeah, I am hoping the same, that MotoGP21 replaces MotoGP20 on the service, here’s hoping. I like the improvements they’ve made but it is a little lacking in that it doesn’t have any other game modes. I love the Moto 3 class and haven’t managed to tame the MotoGP class as yet. Strangely enough, I can manage the similar CC classes (Racing and Endurance modified) in Ride 4. But it’s great that they’re all made by Milestone.
