What are you playing now?

Still only feeding my Destiny 2 addiction when I have time. Loving the new season - it feels like a narrative high compared to the previous ones. But then I’m also spoiled for being able to play through the Witch Queen story line for the first time as well. So I’m alternating seasonal narrative with weekly grinds and Witch Queen progression.

Contemplating doing Destiny 2 again after Tiny Tina. I enjoyed beyond light.

Do it. The new area is great, story is much better and they’ve overhauled Void and Solar to work like Stasis. Arc is getting the treatment next season…

The current season takes place on the Derelict Leviathan, which is a nice change of pace from the activity-based seasons - you can fully explore the ship and there are loads of hidden things to find and named bosses to kill. The main activity is a public event that’s not too different from Altars of Sorrow on the Moon. So you can drop in and out between exploration as you feel.

You can also now craft certain weapons, and the new energy weapon type (Glaive) is a blast to play - a lance with a deadly melee and sniper-like bolt that it shoots at distant enemies.

There are also lots of stasis weapons now - mostly replacing regular kinetic damage types. I run a stasis a/r (Krait) with a void smg (Funnelweb) and switch out my heavy as needed.

Being able to craft specific builds in Stasis, Void or Solar mean that I don’t just go Stasis due to the spec bump you get from certain fragments - they’re now available on all those sub-classes. Also lots of new grenade types to experiment with in each sub-class.

Oh, I can go on and on as you can see. The game changed quite a bit with the release of Witch Queen, all for the better.

Oh snap. In trying to wean myself off of Civ6 I started playing Disco Elysium over the weekend. I’m pleasantly surprised by it. Would recommend highly.

I played about an hour yesterday so I’m not far in yet. Will play some more tonight. It does look like it can be really good.

I find myself sucked into Red Dead Redemption 2, so enjoying that, for the time being. Loving the slower pace of the game and have been looking for a deep narrative to play.

Started playing Sea of Thieves with some friends of mine, and I am reasonably sure we are the worst pirates in the world. As not even a 100m from the docks that we set out from, something randomly blew up on our ship, launching one of my friends of the boat, as we were laughing at him, and waiting for him to come back on the ship we failed to notice that the ship was sinking, and by the time we got the buckets out, it was too late. This whole situation was so funny, that as we were sinking to Davy Jones locker, we were ROFL so hard and this will be forever remembered.

On another note, I can see why people would like this game to have a PVE setting, as we were put in the same world as a very experienced crew, that just owned us, again and again, camping our ship waiting for us to respawn, eventually making us have to scuttle our ship, abandon our very first mission(excluding tutorial mission) and then sail to another outpost to get a new mission, I know it is part of the game, and kinda the point to be Pirate vs Pirate combat, but it does kinda suck to be newbs in the same world as a bunch of experienced players.

I played Manhunter for a bit and didn’t like it all that much. The combat is frustrating.

So then I played Telling Lies and it could have been really good but was mediocre in the end. I kept waiting for some big mystery to solve but there just wasn’t one. Went and read on Reddit and found other people who feel the same. I finished it though.

So next up on XBox is Monster Train.

I played the first hour of Deadly Premonition 2, which was mostly just story and cinematics. I think there was a nod towards True Detective S1 in there, which was nice.

I also picked up TMNT which I’ll try later.

Finished Tiny Tina on first play through. Started Destiny 2 Witch Queen. Did not take long to remember why I stopped playing it. A disconnect on my internet of 2 seconds means I have to restart even solo missions. Painful. Oh well. If my internet provider had been in the same room with me when it first happened this morning, I would be arrested right now.

Sucks man. Luckily I have decent internet, so my experience is pretty smooth. I played for 5 hours last night!

Awe man, I’ve had my eye on it for so long. Nexomon or Nexomon Extinction?

Just Nexomon, i am thinking of getting extinction after i am finished, but will see. So far really enjoying it, just a nice chill game. The monsters so far are reasonably cool looking, there is a weird one every now and again, but still better than some of the trash pokemon after the initial 151*.

According to the game there are about 310 nexomons to get, i have just got the achievement for catching 120.

*I just found a USB mouse nexomon, so let me not get ahead of myself XD

Destiny 2, getting into fulfilling goals, working towards a completely pointless healing build, for fun. Will probably stop after I get it perfected and have some grouping fun with it, not much else to do in Destiny 2 after a point, weekly pinnacle runs, etc.

Downloading My time at Sandrock, the next iteration of the My time at Portia kind of game. Relaxing, building, questing, crafting, cute but MOST importantly single player, can pause.
