What are you playing now?

Looks great! I find it difficult to find a good competent tower defense. I love the genre but I have very specific needs from them. I haven’t found one that can knock Defence Grid off it’s pedestal, it is the pinnacle of the TD genre.

Awesome. I also love tower defense games. My standard for them are a bit lower than Beo’s though so I loved Defense Grid, Sanctum, Orcs Must Die and I think there was another one that I forget now… but will definitely buy this tomorrow.

@TechThief and @Viper - Speaking of tower defense games, be sure to check out Nordhold. It looks really great!

Playing a mixture of:

On MacOS I am playing The Bazaar - basically a new auto-battler card game. This game is incredibly addictive and deep.

On Xbox playing The First Berzerker Khazan and Monster Hunter Wilds.

I’m not really playing anything on PS5 at the moment. I started DA Veilguard and finished Act 1 but then AC Shadows happened and then Xenoblade X and I haven’t gone back yet.

Clair Obscur - Expedition 33.
The hype is deserved, this is a brilliant RPG. The music, visuals, gameplay, story, characters - EVERYTHING!

I’ve also started playing and can agree, it’s been amazing so far!

Clair Obscur - slowly. I can see it’s really good but I’m just not compelled to play it. I love the combat, music, art style etc. but when I actually sit down to play it I can’t play for longer than about an hour then I’m not feeling it anymore. Possible the lack of any kind of objective marker or journal is contributing to my frustration as well. :stuck_out_tongue: It is good though. (It’s actually making me want to play Metaphor ReFantazio again)

Unicorn Overlord is a must play for SRPG / tactical game fans. I usually don’t play these games but this game is SO damn good. Gorgeous art style and absolutely addictive gameplay. Check it out if you haven’t/

Not a fan of turn based games, they feel more like digital board games after a while. I might give it a go though, its free on gamepass.

D4 season 8 soon, been playing POE2 (got gatvol of all the really bad game design), played some Last Epoch for relaxation. Still playing Oblivion.

Yes! This is the game it reminds me most of, but I prefer this to Metaphor (having only played a bit of that).

I’ve had the demo of Unicorn Overload installed for months but I haven’t got round to trying it xD

I wouldn’t say Clair Obscur reminds me of Methapor that much tbh, it just makes we want to play Metaphor because I think Metaphor is a much better game/JRPG in every way. With Metaphor I was hooked from the first minute and played it for over 100 hours and finished the game doing all the side hunts and other stuff as well. Clair Obscur I’m playing in 20-45 minute sessions in-between Oblivion and Unicorn Overlord. I’ve literelly alt-F4 to get out of Clair Obscur more than once because I wans’t in the mood to keep playing. It’s just not hooking me, despite the fact that I can see it is very good.

I started this up and in the tutorial phase. The music, characters and voice acting set it up so well and seems to be so moving. Or maybe I’m just very emotional lately. I actually stopped playing to avoid getting into an emotional state.

It is absolutely an emotional experience.

I might be in the honeymoon phase with Clair (ooh la la) still, but Metaphor didn’t engage me in the same way.

I can also see why it is so good, but I think I was burnt out with SMT at that point, and just wanted to play something more straightforward, like SMT V, which I was also playing at the time.

Ok, Clair Obscur got me. Played a bit more and then somehow it all fell into place. The combat is really great and the dodging is not as hard to do as Sekiro so I at least get about 4/10 dodges/parries in and it’s very satisfying. The story did not grip me from the beginning but the point where I am now has changed that and I’m fully invested now. I still find the map very confusing but I’ve learned that the game lights the main path with lanterns so I can just follow them if I start to get too lost.

Finished Clair Obscur its a 9.8/10 game. I substract 0.1 for shit platforming and another 0.1 for confusing map navigation (in dungeons).

Tower Dominion was released so playing that.

This is the month of indies for me, as The Precinct releases this coming week, Ravenswatch has a new free DLC planned for this month which includes 2 new characters, and Deliver at all costs also comes out this month. Hades 2 also celebrates its 1 year in early access

I know DOOM is coming out this month as well, but until my PC can run it, I am going to try and avoid it.

I saw that and looks right up my alley for a TD but sadly doesn’t support MacOS.

Be sure to check out Rift Riff

Playing this game and am really impressed with it. I did not even hear about it until Sunday. The music is amazing (features tracks from Danheim, Gealdyr - my favourite adventuring music). The game play is smooth and so much like the Elder Scrolls titles, with its own twists. Graphics are great. It was pretty cheap too.

I’ve been following it when it was in Early Access and am glad to see that they haven’t increased the price!

I’m glad you’re enjoying it, I’m keen to get this when I clear up some backlog.
