What are you playing now?

Which Castlevania and which boss? I know I struggled a lot with a boss in the first LoS.

Lords of Shadow, and it was the Werewolf boss… but I eventually got past it. I was pressing the wrong button. Because I haven’t played the game in so long, I didn’t know which button press was needed for which indication because they don’t say “press X”. So I figured out that circle closing in is X and highlight in white means you must grab.

I just check the game after buying it, play it for a couple of hours and then think, yeah, this is ok… I’ll come back to it later after I’m finished with what I’m playing… then 1 year later… here we are .

New DOOM: Eternal DLC came out, so playing that, you know it is new and none is playing it when you see this:

It’s an achievement for completing the first mission XD

Completed the dlc of DOOM: Eternal, and I am sad to say I am glad it is over, I suggest that for anyone who likes the story of the game instead of the combat watch a playthrough instead, as the game became a bit less, “let’s slay some demons” too more of a “lets play rock paper scissors” as the game starting bringing in demons that were invulnerable unless you use certain weapons, which I really did not like, also the last boss fight was quite disappointing as in order to kill him he needs to do certain actions, and, no joke we stood and looked at each other for like 30 seconds before he did anything at some points…

But in the end, I am still glad that I completed it, I liked the story and in the end the final cut scene was quite epic, as well as the final mission, for those who do like the game and the combat, I can recommend playing the dlc, it does make the game slightly more difficult even on easy, with the added demons adding quite a challenge. And hey, there is even a part of me that can’t wait for if they ever make a new one, coz when everything is said and done demon slaying is still very fun.

Nier: Automata and I’m loving it!

I am playing on normal difficulty since I’d heard the intro can be quite punishing and haven’t had much trouble. I think playing Hades has helped with dodge reactions.

It feels good to play a Japanese action-rpg again. There’s something about the style that makes it so different from Western games. The environments are large and apocalyptically sparse, making you feel in comparison. The combat is slick, some of the counter moves and combos are so satisfying. I’m intrigued by the story and look forward to see how it unravels. Lastly, the music! The orchestral scores are amazing, real Final Fantasy vibes there.

Also, the XGP is the way to play it on PC. I see there’s some huge controversy over the fact that the Steam version remains unpatched. Digging deeper it appears that the XGP version is a different port entirely to the Steam version. So it’s not really a patchable fix. But if Square want to salvage some reputation with PC gamers they’d better look at bringing the XGP version of the game to Steam as a free upgrade.

It’s one of my favourite games ever and I still listen to the soundtrack frequently. I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Remember to keep playing after the credits, no matter how many times they pop up

Thanks for the tip!

Completed sleeping dogs, now contemplating playing the Yakuza games, since they look to be like the same type of games.

They are nothing alike. Yakuza is a JRPG series. Lots and lots of cutscenes and excellent brawler gameplay (from Y0-Y6) and then turn based combat in Y7 (Like a Dragon).

Do give them a try though, start with Y0. It’s one of my favourite gaming series’s.

Yakuza also has a crap ton of great side content like mini games and side quests

I guess looking just at the combat you could see a comparison but Sleeping Dogs has that fluid, counter based combat system similar to the Arkham games but Yakuza is more of a classic beat-em-up with over the top special moves.

ahhh sorry, I think I generalized a bit too much :P, meant more of a story setting type, like both are to do with the “mafia” of their countries Sleeping dogs being the triad and Yakuza being the, well, Yakuza XD, but yeah googled quickly like a rough chronological order, and it states to start with Yakuza 0, so will do so.

Yeah in that sense you are 100% correct. Kiryu (the main protagonist of Yakuza) is the gangster with a heart of gold. The creator of the series does not want to allow him to appear in fighting games because he does not want Kiryu “beating up women”.

Tha ks for the brief on Eternal. I started playing it this weekend and got to the end of the second mission. Have a few gripes and your comment just confirms more of it so I have since uninstalled it. Thanks for saving me some time.

@DarthMol
I am really excited that you are enjoying Nier, it really is a remarkable little gem that more people need to apprecy. Think there are like 27 endings in total if you really want to extend your gameplay experience.

I can’t wait for the remake of the first Nier game. I loved that game on PS3. I’m really hoping it comes to game pass as well.

All this talk has me wanting to play Automata again. I’ve only played through the game twice so I definitely haven’t seen all the content or endings.

That’s a lot of endings!

26, one for each letter of the alphabet. Most of them are joke or bonus endings though. Only A - E are for the story. It’s kind of fun to get all of them though.

I think I’m going to make GTA Online a weekend-only game. I spend far too much time playing it.

Do you need to replay the whole game to get them or can you see most of them by reloading a save at the end?

As I recall after a certain point you can jump around between missions. That’s very late in the game though if I remember correctly.
