Russia klapped with a big ban:

Don’t do drugs sporty types.

I thought they were already banned? Or are they now just banned for longer?

Bit of both I think. The athletics ban from 2015 is still place, but this one extends to “any major sporting event” in which the World Anti Doping Agency has a enforcement role. Which is pretty much all international level sport.

It comes after Russia’s Anti Doping Agency (Rusada) was declared non-compliant for manipulating laboratory data handed over to investigators in January 2019.

It had to hand over data to Wada as a condition of its controversial reinstatement in 2018 after a three-year suspension for its vast state-sponsored doping scandal.

Top marks to the CNN Twitter person for the inspired picture choice to go with that :grinning:

I remember my aunt from Blackpool telling me that everyone really prefers Man City and I was like that can’t be. Man United is the best team in the world. Then Man City got money somewhere along the way I by then I had lost interest in football.

Day 1’s huge spectator caused accident… still amazed that only one rider ended up abandoning because of it.

Meanwhile, the police and organisers are trying to locate the sign holding fan - they want to sue her for damages. It’s believed she’s a German who fled the scene and has already left the country though.

Euros were wild last night. Both games had late equalisers. Both ending in 3-3. The France-Switzerland game went to penalties, where the less favoured, Swiss team won.

And honestly, on the French form last night, the Swiss deserved that win. Doubt they’ll go further, but kudos to them so far.
