Assetto Corsa & AC Racing League [MEWRL]

I love this :joy:

We’re racing the long version of Oulton Park without chicanes which is why I changed it to that. If I wanted to surprise you, I would have switched it this evening

Not that I can really do anything about it, but I just thought I’d say that I feel like it’s not in the spirit of the corona cup to put in 30 laps of practice for two 7 lap races. I try to encourage close racing with the tracks and race lengths I’ve setup, but if people want to become hotlap heroes, that’s up to them.

I can understand if there are guys trying to make it into the top half of the grid, but c’mon @GerhardNiemand @aldyr @DarthMol, you guys are fast enough, give the others at least some chance of seeing what your brake lights look like

As for unfair advantages, it’s not really unfair, it’s just not the spirit of the corona cup that’s all. It’s not illegal to do 300 laps of practice if you so choose.

These are my settings. You keep the replay playing when you take screenshots to get the motion blur

This has been a PSA brought to you by MEW Racing League

(but seriously… don’t take it too seriously, this is meant to be a fun league)

Fair enough, I’ve been hopping on to get at least an idea of the track but then next thing you know you’ve done 20 laps after fiddling around with the setup. I suppose that’s one way this has differed from the MX5 cup where the setup was pretty much fixed. The gearing is a big factor when it comes to the Cortina.

But with us having quali on both tracks that gives time for some practice during quali at least so I will limit the urge to practice

I was thinking yesterday that we should maybe make it a fixed setup with for example the 202kph top speed gear ratio?

Either that or 173km/h as that might strike the best balance.

Good idea, but i’ll have to think on a setup that would suit most of the tracks in the line up.
I’ll work on it before round 3 next week, might need some input from you guys.

Leave the suspension just as is. I think it is okay in stock format. We just need a balance with the gears  Otherwise it will be ratatatatatatata down all the straights

I’m in favour of the 190/200 top speed as this thing is very traction limited and wheelspins up to 2nd gear anyway.
Ya, I find that the soft and hard/low setups are equally fast.
I also move my brake balance back to 62% I find I can brake a lot later and lockup less.

Maybe do the server setup so that only brake balance can be adjusted?

Maar jy moes gese. I like the car, so I lapped a lot. I also didn’t like the idea of getting stuck with terrible gearing on a super straight. I did share my setup with whoever was in the channel at the end, which is mostly around a topend of 173km/h at Oulton and 195km/h at Silverstone. The rest is drop the car suspension a few clicks, and add some more camber (0.8).

And lastly, I detest not knowing a track going straight into qualifying. :man_shrugging:

That was a lot of fun, we need more old, wide tracks like Silverstone.
It’s still early days, but with all the position swaps, the top 4 are only separated by 18 points.

Anyway, I’m not sure how to do this now, this is going to be a bitch to format…
