Almost done my playthrough on Moze. I am amazed at the massive DPS difference between her and FL4K at this level. Using Mozeās shield/health balance I get a lot more damage out of her. Plus the bear just melts big bosses.
Not only bosses, but pretty much everything. Especially if you spend on the trait that increases damage if you use 2 weapons of the same type. I focus a lot on incendiary damage, so most of my traits are going that way as well. I also spent on the traits that increase damage while moving, and allowing firing of weapons while running. So I play as a fiery, running death machine.
There is this pistol in BL3, I wonāt spoil how you get it, that is very interesting. When you use it, Tyreen insults you, a lot.
Such a creative detail. The game has a lot of them.
I accidentally destroyed the cameras and missed out on the pistol⦠Will make sure to take the other option during my next playthrough.
The latest patch buffed Iron Bear and FL4Kās pets a LOT. So much so that some idiots on reddit are complaining that they are too strong now. I will never understand this. Why would you want nerfs in a PVE game? Isnāt the point to eventually feel overpowered and wreck everything?
The same reason you up the level cap every so often. To make you grind longer.
If the hamster wheel is too easy to run on then the hamster will look somewhere else for its fun. You have to keep the hamster running on the wheel until you can sell it a new shiny DLC wheel to run on.
Level cap increases are fine but I donāt agree with nerfing guns or abilities until they are useless. I see jokes on reddit that Gearbox lied when they said billions of guns because only 4 guns are useful after all the nerfs.
I also see the level cap increase as an opportunity to become more powerful, not a way to increase the challenge or prolong the grind. I donāt really care about the grind that much. I just like punching bandits and skags in the face.
We finally finished the quest we got booted from so many times before last night, also dropped our mayhem level to 3 (I do think we will be fine at 4 but at 3 we are still taking a fair bit of damage and dying but can melt some mobs so nicely.)
Following the discussion in this thread has made me rethink whether I should get Borderlands 3 at all⦠It sounds like it still needs a lot of work.
I wouldnāt say so. The campaign is smooth, well written and has everything borderlands in it. The characters play well, the skills all work. The sound quality (music, voice overs etc) is very good. What you are picking up in here is my disinterest in the the āend gameā loop.
If you just want to play through the campaign, alone or with friends, then the game has no issues that Iām aware of. The writing is not as good as BL2 but thatās not the main draw of this game. The loot is amazing, the sound design is excellent and there are some cool characters and a bit of decent humour to be found.
The balancing stuff only becomes a problem end game when you start to play with Mayhem modifiers. I think Gearbox is trying to please everybody and might end up pleasing nobody instead. Iām happy with the game as it is now. I play on Mayhem 3 and Iāve just finished the new DLC without running into trouble because of my build or weapons.
Let me be blunt, the conversation in this thread is not enough to cover everything that is Borderlands 3, an FPS RPG entrenched in the endgame loop, and a very long story, with many side missions, which if you do everything, youāre doing it twice and then doing raids afterwards at max level, coop with friends. There are technical issues. They come and go, as with any game, where the developer is actively making changes in a seasonal/event based cycle. They improve things, they make mistakes and fuck up things. As always, people moan louder than praise, if reddit and youtube are anything to go by.
This is my opinion, and mine alone. Thank you for coming to my ted talk.
Iām 45 hours into the campaign and only about 2/3 done, if online guides are anything to go by. And thatās me only playing 1 character, not rushing things. Not one of those hours has felt like a drag or has been unenjoyable. I suspect Iāll get another good 10-15 hours out of the campaign experience alone. Then 4 story DLCs still await me, as Iām considering buying the Season Pass.
For the price I paid for the game, it really is terrific value. I paid around R300 for the base game and it seems like (after discount and applied voucher on EGS) the Season Pass will cost me another R500 odd. Iāll get at least 100 hours of playtime out of the game, which translates to R8/hour (or less). Few pleasures in life cost that little.
I bought the game on a whim due to being cheap on EGS and Iām really glad I did. I loved Borderlands 1 and 2, was indifferent about Pre-Sequel and was wary of 3. The third one has now become my favourite in the series.
Absolutely good value for money. My plan is to play through doing everything with one character then play through a DLC and campaign with every other character. I did FL4K at 50 hours, Moze at 25 and am currently busy with Zane.
You can choose to start a new character with a DLC, it then levels you to 13, places you on your ship and then from there the fun starts.
I personally hate repeating content for the sake of loot. In BL3, the characters play sufficiently differently for me to play through the same content again, having fun every time.
Another plus is the Guardian system, sort of levelling you do that applies to all your characters. I also keep the nice items I pickup through levels, put it in the bank and use them on new characters.
All in all, a good buy
Sheās tactical!
@Wyvern
If you get another one its miiiiiiiiiiiine! Altho im finding pistols and snipers useless currently.
Wow, they sure buffed the Moze bear. I know I said I donāt like end game loops but I dropped into that Graveward boss fight from 0 to mayhem 3, just to see how it goes, and melted that boss in less than 20 seconds with the bear. This is with pre-mayhem gear.
So whats next once I have played all 4 characters, all the DLCs? What do you guys and gals suggest I do next?
no idea that is normally when I put the game down and pick it up only when someone I knows need help
