Also, just did a count and it seems I managed to squeek in the 30 post as well. So not a bad week for me despite not being as active as I would like.

My thread and article for the 2022-02-14 → 2022-02-20
Like the title says, what do you do when you wake up at 2:00AM (thanks mosquito) and can’t get back to sleep. I end up watching stuff (youtube, series, movies)

To make sure I get at least one point, here is my thread…
The soundtrack of a game is incredibly important, and many games sport some epic soundtracks. But sometimes a game has that one song that completely transforms the game, either during a mission, or a certain cutscene.
So my question to you is, what has been the song or piece of music that made a game more epic? Either making you feel like a better badass in-game, tugging at your heartstrings, or filling you with a serene sense of wonder.
There are a few games and songs that stand out for me.

Good news for those who dislike the fact that there are so many game launchers and clients that they have to keep with. (Go GOG Galaxy 2.0 already!) From April you’ll have one less launcher to worry about. The Bethesda.net Launcher is being put out to pasture, and Bethesda games will be migrating to Steam.

(So you get rid of one of the launchers, but your Steam backlog grows )
Bethesda, in their notice about the change, don’t give specific reason why the change is hap…

Since the start of the invasion there has been countless news articles, videos, tweets etc. on the situation in Ukraine.
The Wikipedia post sums up quite nicely the gist of how it started:
On 24 February 2022, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine , its neighbour to the southwest, marking the largest escalation of the ongoing Russo-Ukrainian War that began in 2014. Russian President Vladimir Putin , claiming that post-1997 enlargement of NATO was a security threat, demanded that Ukr…
Here is my tribute - that and the requisite number of replies.

You know what I just realised…
Last year @GregRedd endeavoured to write a massive piece on the “Day of the Year”, and succeeded splendidly. And he did that every single day of the year, 365 days in a row. So, while I myself am still in the race, I want to place a R100 bet on @GregRedd winning this. I know it’s early days, which means the odds should be high and the return on the bet just as high

I reckon that’s a safe bet. Still, we can put the pressure on and make him work for it

Don’t fall for it folks… A fool and his money are soon parted.
Alternatively, take Hammers bet then PM your offer to me to throw the competition so you win. I’m prepared to take a 50% split if the winnings are high enough.

Sorry @Solitude I didn’t post my thread for last week. Here it is.
Here’s a fun little metric I found while listening to the Triple Click Podcast (Link to the podcast if you are interested ). In the discussion Kirk Hamilton (ex-Kotaku reviewer and writer) came up with an interesting way to profiling open-world games. Similar to the personality tests, there are sliding scale metrics by which open-world games can be categorised.
His theory is this, any open-world game can be ranked on three different metrics:
Emergent - Controlled (How dynamic/simulated is the o…
