Chair Suggestions

More recent necroing! I am also looking at getting something comfortable but the R6k + for the NetOne is way out of my price range. Best I can do is 2.5-3k.

Any suggestions? I REALLY do not care about colours etc. Just want good firm tilt, high back, strong wheels and a cover that is not going to flake on me in a year’s time.

While not gaming chair, I have something like this, to which you can get an extendable headrest as an option too.

Where in South Africa are you?

I have an old Makro chair that you can take for free. You may just want to clean it a bit. It looks similar to the one that @Beo posted.

Thanks for the offer but I am using an old makro chair already and want to replace it

Haha fair point. :grinning:

My old Makro chair broke pretty hard late last week.

I screwed in a metal plate to help fix it, but I need to get a metal drill bit to finish the job. It also needs a new gas canister.

Eg.

I am always mindful of my posture and I can definitely recommend the backs of these chairs. Coupled with the ability of most to move further back or lock-in up-right positions, along with the adjustable height of the seat and arms it is a suitable alternative to a more expensive counterpart.

Slightly off the topic of practical and affordable chairs… I love how this one’s description includes the phrase “…Computer Chair for Office…”. I want to work in the office that has these chairs!

I know this won’t help you @Shrike, but I should leave some feedback since I was the last thread-necro’er.

3 months or so in, and I still love my NetOne. It’s a great, comfy chair that I still appreciate every time I go sit down at my desk. It survived a baptism of fire of days of work from homing and followed by gaming that night, without generating a single complaint from me. 5 thumbs up!

would not recommend, tested it out during rAge, and within 3 days the buttons on it were pressed through, although still working, the pretty button cover was already pierced.

Same here. My NetOne at home is now 18 months old and I got NetOnes for the whole office 3 months ago. It’s a superb chair.

Oh boy!

I get to necro now.I’ve been having back problem lately. I wish, and really do need one of those NetOne’s. But I am not the one paying, nor do I have the funds myself.

What I’ve been seeing in this thread is to stay away from this kind?

Maybe I could pitch in a little and go for
Essential Silverstone Racing Chair | High Back Chairs | Back Chairs | Chairs | Office Furniture | Stationery & Office Furniture | Makro Online Site, but I doubt it’d be much better…

The benefit I have is I can go try them out in store, but I feel these’ll fall apart in no time.

These guys are pretty much crap?

Maybe fabric would be better than pleather?

I don’t know why I’m looking at gaming chairs, but I kinda like the looks of this one

I’m just thinking out loud here, as most this stuff has been covered already, but offerings/sales change, so if anyone has any input, I’d appreciate it

I would most ultimately definitely say do not get a gaming chair. I had one since 2017 and it’s uncomfortable and mine finally fell apart recently. Luckily I could steal a chair from work now.

However, that Ikon one looks a lot more comfortable than the chair I used. It’s a shame that proper ergonomic chairs are so expensive.

I did some quick googling and this one doesn’t get too bad user reviews and is this one:
https://www.takealot.com/elara-executive-ergonomic-chair/PLID70678928

However there’s lots of chairs. I hope you find something nice. And it may be that gaming chairs are better than when I bought in 2017.

Ya, I’ve actually been looking at their website. Seems their stuff is cheaper through takealot. The one you posted only gets 3 stars for ergonomic rating though… I love the fact they have a 5 year warranty. Still, with that takealot price, it is now on the radar.

Unfortunately they don’t have the one I’ve really been eyeing on takealot, even though it’d still be out of my price range

edit: it’s a tough choice between the wellback and this one Nitro ZF Gaming Office Chair - Karo for ‘out of the price range’

Mesh back chairs FOR LIFE! Since I’ve been using a NetOne at home and got the whole office NetOnes as well, I haven’t been able to sit on other chairs for prolonged periods. The breathability and support is just phenomenal.

Cool, thanks. Unfortunately the NetOne is far too much out of my price range :frowning:

I am looking at the Wellback because it is orthopedic, not ergonomic, and while it isn’t as breathable, I’m wondering if it’d be worth the extra cash… And if it is worth the extra cash, would the Nitro ZF be worth the slightly less cash…

However, I already know the answer will be “Get the one for R2500”
