Cyberpunk 2077 — We Have a City to Burn🔥

This was my first bug…

But still overall I am loving the game

I can’t use the CPU one as I don’t have AMD but I’m going to give the memory pool one a try. Hopefully it helps.

I honestly cant remember what I have, my biggest issue is i5 . . . .But I cant afford to upgrade the whole system

this game kinda looks like GTA in a way

Yeah my i7 is nearly a decade old now and upgrading it means new mobo and RAM as well.

Ain’t nobody got money for that.

I edited that file but my CPU usage still hovers around 70% in the game. It does seem like I got some performance gain though. Before I capped it at 30 with 80% dynamic resolution scaling targeting 30 on low settings. Now I’ve removed the cap and set it to default (medium) and I saw it hit 50FPS while averaging around 40. I am in a mission though so haven’t tested it while driving around yet, but I’m hopeful. If it stays around 40 I might put the scaling on again and target 40.

In the open world now and it can’t maintain the 40, but it doesn’t drop below 30 anymore (driving around in the rain and it’s about 34-37).

I think what I’ll do is set the cap back to 30 and put vsync on 29. That should give me a smooth gameplay experience if I don’t get drops below 30. I read a while back that the reason locked 30FPS feels so smooth on console as opposed to PC is because on console the vsync is set to 30 as well so it’s very smooth. I’m not an expert on these things but it makes sense and feels smooth to me.

I am also, finally, really loving this game. I have enjoyed it from the start but was not enamoured of it yet. I am now. When I’m not playing I’m thinking of it, which is what was missing before. My plan was to focus on the story missions and wait for patches and a second playthrough before going into side content and exploring but I have abandoned that notion and I’m now taking my time. I won’t do EVERYTHING but I won’t rush the main story either.

Also, I have played for about an hour straight now after editing the files and I have not noticed one drop below 30 (except when it was quickly loading in assest while driving around). I’ve done some driving around, shooting and talking to people and it stays at 30 so I’m really happy.

That Reddit post from the disgruntled expat employee is looking more accurate every day.

Still, I can’t wait to sink my teeth into this game once all the issues are polished out.

My laptop has the fastest available 9th Gen Core i5 and a GTX 1660 Ti, which means a max of Medium or perhaps High settings for me.

So I’d rather wait a few months for everything to stabilise a little and get the game then, and hopefully not struggle so much with my midrange system.

I think you might just be surprised… My Ryzen 1600 and 5700XT defaults to High, and giving me around 40-45 fps at 1440p.

To Full-Screen or To Borderless Window, that is the question?

I honestly have no idea what difference it makes

Fullscreen is usually better performance wise

Other than being easier to use other applications if you’re on a dual / triple monitor setup without needing to risk alt-tabbing, I don’t either other than having heard there’s a potential performance difference.

That’s what I’m asking really - how big, if at all, is the performance difference between playing full-screen and playing borderless window?

Significantly? Or does it vary? Am I going to have to go into the game and experiment for myself? I don’t want to do that right now, because I know if I do I will get stuck in there and before I know it the entire day will have disappeared.

I think it can be quite game dependent. Borderless window definitely makes alt-tabbing easier.

You can alt-tab just fine in fullscreen with Cyberpunk. I’ve done it a few times. No flickering or anything weird like that.

For those “Honey, what are you doing on the computer?” moments when creating your character in the game, amirite?
