Also been catching up on the Marvel movies. Just finished Shang-Chi recently, but had to watch it in a browser. The app on my media box kept crashing after playing about 2 minutes of it. It is the only movie that has done that though. All other movies seem to be playing fine.
Now I’m just waiting for the last Spiderman to come to Disney+ and then I can consider going to see the next one in cinema. Haven’t been to the cinema in years.
I’ll maybe start giving the Marvel series a try. Already did Hawkeye, but only cause it seemed like it might follow from the Black Widow movie (which it did).
Im very unhappy with Disney+, tried watching Stumptown on it last night. The first 30mins went fine, then it started buffering, it took us about another 40mins to watch the last 10/15mins.
That’s really strange, I’ve never really struggled with buffering or streaming issues that people seem to be plagued with.
One thing that gets my goat is that on my kids profile the option to skip intro or to the next episode doesn’t happen and the stream stops if it hits the end of the current episode. But this ONLY happens on my youngest’s profile.
I also don’t have any buffering issues… unless I skip back or forwards alot. On that note, one thing I really hate is the inability to watch from Start. I had to “rewind” Mandalorian every episode because my nephew decided to watch it on my profile before I started watching it. However I did notice that if I wait for the “next episode” button, which appears at the very end for that show, then it starts the next episode from the start, luckily.
Yeah, I wonder if it’s a “kid profile” feature. Perhaps they apply it as a security measure or something, if anything surely all a kid wants is to continue watching so I don’t fully understand the reasoning.
What irks me the most besides the buffering is the fact that I cannot predownload the episodes. . . . .Im gonna lose my mind. Now I need something new to watch
My issue is with the buffering I want to predownload in advance so I can avoid this. We have so far watched 1 movie - 80% buffering and one tv episode like I have described. I have no such issues with netflix and its driving me insane.
I cannot install the app to my phone because I for some reason get the us version and I cannot log in otherwise I would have downloaded the shows to the phone and screencasted.
99% of the issues are due to the utter garbage Hotstar implementation of the D+ app that we have. It still boggles my mind that Disney are letting their brand get trashed by it. And also why some places are getting the patently inferior Hotstar version while others are getting the original Disney+ app at the same time.
As I suspected, the new launches in the Middle East, North Africa and Israel have all also been put on the same version, and are having similar issues and complaints. At the same time, launches in the Eastern European region have received the legacy app.
Not that it’s going to make the slightest bit of difference, but there’s is a very eloquent and detailed petition running on Change.org with lots of insight and some links to some of the complaint threads.
Just discovered that all 15 seasons of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia are on Disney+ I have caught bits and pieces of it over the years, but think it’s going to be a go to series in 22-minute chunks to get through load shedding sessions…
