Why yes, it seems that it has been resurrected…

New posts started appearing from 25 January. No forum link on the frontpage though so I don’t know. @SIGSTART you behind this?

Its sad that it took us this long to see it

Well the last hiring email from broad media was for a ‘gaming journalist’

I was confused yesterday because I saw a tweet from the mygaming twitter account. I was like “is my feed showing me a pre-2018 tweet, the hell???”

Nope. The tweet was indeed from yesterday

Very little fanfare about it though. Not even an “It’s Alive!!” tweet on the old TwitterBookToks. Just the farewell and goodbye notes from 2018 and then suddenly new posts appearing. It’s still linked to MyBB, so presumably @CZC’s point is right on the money.

This tweet from an eagle-eyed follower made us laugh:

MyGaming is currently being used as a training ground for new journalists, hence the lack of fanfare.

We’re taking in a stack of interns, giving them basic training, and then getting them to write for a real news site to cut their teeth.

The powers-that-be kindly offered me the chance to oversee the operation, but I declined. I have my hands full with MyBroadband.

There is oversight — we’re not just letting a bunch of fresh-faced recruits run wild — but the oversight is not me.

That will happen here soon with the brute force competition.

Fresh-Faced Recruits Run Wild also sounds like the name of a low-budget porn movie.

While you’re here @SIGSTART it says this in the ghost

Ghost 4.0 is now available - You are using an old version of Ghost, which means you don’t have access to the latest features. Read more!

So what you’re saying is, we should go there and give the interns work is thorough scrutinization and comment heaps and heaps of constructive critisims until they realize journalism is a brutal profession and their skin grows a few centimeters thicker…

The amazing colouring aside, are these original drawings too? That’s some mad skills right there.

Nah this example was something I printed out on standard printer 80gsm which I think is it’s downfall. I was getting so much bleeding with the markers. Until I can afford to get some better paper or marker board along with some mechanical pencils, maybe some graphite, and possibly some sketch books.

This an argument I’m also currently having with my son, drawing and coloring is not a talent, it’s a skill, and like any skill it can be learnt over time. If you are willing to put in the time.

He constantly wants to use my supplies and stationary, but until he can learn to draw the fundamentals and show me that he is willing to put in some time and commitment then I will happily buy him his own supplies and sketch book.

The ability to draw anything is the ability to draw simple shapes; rectangle, circle and triangle. If you can draw those then you can draw anything given the time and persistence.

Practice is not perfect, practice is progression. There is no perfect, only progression towards improving, constantly.
