I have worked with friends, it didn’t go well.
I have worked with colleagues, that became friends, then moved to same company subsequently. Did go well.
My experience is, friends that you have never worked with, don’t know boundaries, and it can tax or kill a friendship, learning those boundaries.
The colleagues that became friends, I guess, we know where we stand. There’s no buddy buddy in the work place. You’re here to do work. It did kind of kill the fun outside of the work place though. And I found myself not wanting to see them on the weekends anymore.
Just another perspective to think about. No guarantee this will happen to you.

Morning all.
Did an interesting risk assessment a at mine yesterday. They’re looking to convert their diesel LHDs to electric LHDs. Battery technology still has a little way to go though.

What is it, this thing? Those giant dump trucks? Or the flat front digger things that they use in the actual mine tunnels?

Extra infos: like @czc said, LHDs live underground in the tunnels. It’s short for Lifter Hauler Dumper, and are incredibly powerful machines. @czc: did you do a general risk assessment, or specifically for the electricness?
The big ol trucks come in two general flavours, those that have a pivot between the cab and the trailer, called an Articulated Dump Truck or ADT, and those that dont have a pivot, or Rigid Dump Truck or RDT.

Specifically the electricness. Switching from diesel to electric would be positive for the ventilation system. The change to electric would pose new risks.
