We use gitlab. It works well but then I have not known anything else

There’s nothing wrong with it. We used Gitlab for a couple of years before switching over to Azure DevOps. We use Github for one client and BitBucket for another, but (IMHO) DevOps is the best of the lot. From ticket management, to sizing, to SCM, to release management and deployment automation, to in-depth reporting, it is a proper one-stop shop.
