@GregRedd , I think it is you. Need to double check. But how are you going so fast with all those damn assists on? =D
Cos I need all the assistance I can get!
Gave up on the controller in pure frustration, and dug out my old DFGT wheel again. I just don’t have the finesse in my fingers to feather the triggers anymore - it’s either all or nothing. Wasted way too much driving time trying to find deadzone settings that worked.
Not that it helped much to be honest though. I landed up wasting even more time trying to find comfortable settings for the wheel instead The lap I set was actually the only one I managed to keep clean, and only because I was testing different acceleration settings on the wheel and had turned on Traction and Stability control to stop spinning out after the last hairpin when accelerating back up the straight. Pure fluke, to be honest.
Ended up being pretty hopeless at everything else I tried - Trophy Trucks and a Track Day race were both terrible (worse than I was with the controller!), even with AI Drivatars set at Average. Couldn’t string a single clean lap in the Forza RC events I tried either.
The AI in this game piss me off so much wow! They keep on ramming me.
Your time was impressive, especially with all those assists!
This is just the 1st of many challenges. So get a setup what works for you to do laps comfortably.
Wow I can’t get back to my 49s time with ABS off XD. The fact that I can’t turn and brake takes getting used to.
Using the controller?
You can, even better than with ABS on. Just do not lock it. Use the vibrations as an indicator of when you are over cooking it
Yep I am. It feels like I can get better times, just keep screwing up. I’ll try again tonight.
It take some time to get used to it.
99% of your braking should however be done even before your turn in for the apex. Otherwise you are going to be making corrections through out the whole corner
Is it still faster without ABS if you treat the car like it doesn’t have ABS? If you modulating the brakes to prevent locking up would it be as fast as doing the same to prevent ABS activating?
(hopefully I’m making sense here)
Well… I get what you are saying yes. But to pres the brake quickly in and out all the way is not the right way to go about it. You need to squeeze it as hard as you can (Be gentle is the trick), till just before you feel it locking up. So pumping the trigger is not the way to do it if that is what you meant
Fuck this stupid fucking game!
I don’t own an XBOX (or Forza 7), but what about doing a Forza Horizon 3 Race Club next time? I’d definitely be keen to join in then…
Some amazing laps. Closer than I thought it would have been!
I was definitely on my limit!
Standings look as follow for this challenge:
- @Flex- 47.350
- @DieGrootHammer - 48.708
- @GregRedd- 48.910
- @Deadlypinecone- 49.109
- @Dragonic- 49.565
- @Beo- 49.861
- @Solitude- 50.365
I see NeonBlackout from MyG also participated, but think he just did it on his own not knowing about the challenge as he is not on the MEW Xbox Group or anything.
Well done gents! That was some amazing driving.
@DieGrootHammer you can pick the next challenge
Okay sweet I’ll select the next challenge tonight when I’m in front of my Xbox. I feel good about my time, and the fact that I could do it almost all assist turned off. Starting to really enjoy driving without ABS.
Man it sucks to see my name at the bottom haha. I’ll see if I can spend more time on the next challenge.
Don’t have a proper screen shot now so that people can see what everyone used.
But yeah, your time was very good indeed.
Times were very close though!
You are more than welcome to see who has Horizon 3 and start your own race series if you want perhaps I am not a huge fan of the Horizon Series personally
Those were some impressive top times.
I found using an Xbox One controller on my PC made a huge difference due to the braking feedback it gives.
Looking forward to the new challenge.
Were you using you KB?
