My best time was set with ABS on, sadly I could not match or better my time with ABS on, I tried ever since Flex suggested trying with ABS off, the closest I got was a 49:7something
But defs looking forward to the next challenge.
I would definitely say the only assist which should be considered is the Traction control. If you use it correctly then some RWD cars will be MUCH faster then with traction control off.
You will see that the more your drive with ABS off the more natural it will feel.
It is a bit easier to learn with smaller hot hatch cars.

Race the Hot Hatch Genesis division at Virginia International Raceway south.
This race will be our next challenge. Found under the Divisions category in Rivals, this race let’s you take your pic from a range of old hit hatch cars. The course is also not too difficult. I believe this should be an excellent time to test out cars without assists and familiarize yourself with that. Hough there is no formal rule, you can choose any assists you want.

Now I know my initial scouting lap was horrendous as stated in the picture, but I got it down to a 1:24.094 for tonight. Will try again later on in the week. Did it in the Renault 5 Turbo. Nice little car that.
I gave the Mk II GTI a bash as well for the nostalgia. 18 year old me drove my MK II Jetta in similar fashion.
The Renault is much faster though. I may get to 1:24 if I can find the apexes

This is such a damn awkward track. Nothing flows properly!
And I am not sure which car feels the most uncomfortable!!!
Everything feels strange. Having to change gears mid way in corners.
I am struggling lots with the last 2 corners, unable to maintain my speed to get a proper run down the main straight.
I’ll see if I can put a couple of laps in tonight before everyone go and put in crazy track times.

But in all seriousness, I really feel I could get my time into the 1:23, but will struggle to get it lower. Those complex first and last corner that narrows is difficult to navigate. Also I think my gearing is problematic. Still need to find the right gear to be in different corners. I go down to 1st in that middle hairpin, and sometimes I get excited and drop it to reverse. Admittedly, that does slow down the car a whole lot, but I think it hurts my time a lot.

With the Pacer. It was my first car of choice, and managed a 1.23 (did not try much after that though). But he is DAMN quick, with full ABS and Traction control ! Madness
I feel with optimal lines, you won’t need to drop to 1st gear anywhere in the Renault.
It pulls decently in 2nd as well. More experimentation is needed
mmmmm… Not too sure about that. I tried very hard but seem to loose lots of momentum
My initial reaction was that I was loosing some time as well staying in 2nd. I’ll have to experiment further as well.

1:27 something in the Scirocco. Did another run this morning in the CRX but did a 1:28. Tonight is the night.
