Awesome thanks dude. I’ll get the paint tonight. Also, how the hell are you driving with a racing line? I didn’t know iRacing had a racing line? But I’m gonna leave it off in any case. It’s better training to learn the tracks.

So to answer in more detail

I did a few laps in the MX5 around a very narrow and short course, just to get the feel of the physics. My first impression was that I dont like it and almost had a bit of buyer’s remorse. But then things slowly came together, the lap times started coming down, and I started to really enjoy the physics. My biggest problem was that I was too scared to push the little bugger harder.

Then I had a few laps in an Indycar around Daytona… Life changing! Firstly, the force feedback around the oval was intense! Where the Mazda felt too light, the indycar was heavy and hard and I could feel every bump around the track. (if this is a laser scanned track it means this track really is very bumpy!) The camber of the road really fought me all the way and after a few laps I was sweating!

I am very keen to get going in the GT3 cars, of which there are none included in your subs. But to do this game justice I will drive the crap out of the MX5 first and then move on to a bigger class when I am more confident.

In short, I laaik it!

Awesome! I look forward to trying it out.

Also. The more people who want to join us the better. So if you’ve been sitting there, thinking about joining but feel a bit shy or left out. You are welcome to join us.

I see @DarthMol typing. I feel a bit bad because he basically just got F1 2019 and then suddenly we are going the iRacing route.

I’ve really enjoyed the F1 races, pity I only joined late in the season.

iRacing looks great but I would only go for it if I had a wheel setup. I know using gamepad is possible but to get the full experience that you pay for I think a wheel is a must.

Hey, I am still going to get my money’s worth in F1 2019! I will always be keen to play other racing games with the other guys on here

Check out this Global Mazda MX-5 Cup paint scheme on Trading Paints.

Okay, so figured out that if you use a custom livery it’s only visible to you as standard. You put your custom paint file into the appropriate car folder in …Documents > iRacing > paint > mx5 cup (or whatever car you’re doing) on your machine. Doing it this way allows you to see the livery on your screen and in your replays/camera views. Other people will see whatever you have set up for the car in the Members paint screen.

If you want to not only use a custom livery, but also let other people use it too, and have other people - drivers and spectators you need to use a 3rd party service. The most common one seems to be Trading Paints.

Whether you load your own livery or use someone else from the public showroom, you will need to install the Trading Paints Downloader and have it running while in game - it calls the custom paint files from all drivers in your session using Trading Paints liveries, stores them temporarily on your system and lets you and others see all the custom liveries present.

Wow you guys are doing advanced stuff quickly already.

I’m thinking of buying the game tonight after doing an F1 race.

For those who bought the game, did the subscription discount codes work fine?
