@Solitude 'll practice with you. The race is 15 laps so we need to try do that without penalty in practice.
Thanks guys, not a bad nights racing.
Congrats on getting out of the rookie class! It was fun watching you drive yesterday. I think Iāll do the same as you and start towards the back and pass people as they make mistakes. It worked really well.
I did some driving in practice with @oltman and @Nosferatie and it was fun! Completely different feel to other driving games. Iāll do some more practice tonight and then attempt time trials and a race or two tomorrow.
Racing together is much more difficult to achieve. Only certain races and events are classified as team races, and the rest is just dumb luck if you get pooled in the same session. So dont expect a lot of friendly faces out there while you go racingā¦
I have an F1 2018 race tonight as part of the XBOXPlaydates league, so I wont be in iRacing tonight.
For those who want to join!

Bloody hell well done @Nosferatie for getting out of Rookies. I checked your progress now, I see what you did. Focus on clean racing and not on the performance. Well done! Wish I started like that. My first few races I went for performance.
So much want!
Oh my gosh - Class D is killerā¦
Wow youāve been busy! Youāll probably be Class C tomorrow/
Damn, I need sleepā¦
Congrats @oltman! Wowee you guys are quick.
For now Iām still focusing on finishing F1 2019.
So I tried my first Rookie Race earlier today. Finished where I stared in P9, despite being lapped by the leaders, so got a tiny bump in my safety rating score. Just stupidly slow in comparison to most of the others in my race. 5-6 seconds off the leaders pace.
Picked up 6 incident points - all of them for off track errors. And all due to under steering. Iām more convinced than ever that part of my problems are wheel related - I have the same issues with racing in F1. Will have to spend some time trying to understand the iRacing wheel settings and see if I can tweak things a little maybe.
On the subject of tweaking thingsā¦ are car setup options for these Rookie races locked, or am I doing something wrong? Why I did some Test drives I could access the Garage and change some stuff - dropped tyre pressures a bit and that seemed to give me a little more grip. But when I tried to do the same in the Race the options werenāt available.
Any suggestions on finding a little more speed without me making the already poor cornering problem worse?
You didnāt realise it @GregRedd but I spectated the last 6 laps of your race. Iām sneaky like that.
I donāt know how the other people are so fast to be honest. I get similar times to you. Even on a straight line I see the people just drive past.
So I donāt really have advice for you sorry. Still learning the ropes myself.
@Nosferatie is one of the crazy fast guys. When I see him race again I will spectate again and watch what heās doingā¦ Hmmm. Actually you can spectate any race so I may do that at any time and see what the leaders are doing.
Didnāt even know that was a thing Was trying to work out the Replay controls and how to save a replay but gave up. To be honest, Iām finding the whole interface and controls and settings a little weird and very dated. Maybe itās just me, but I think the whole UI could definitely do with a little modernization.
Urgh Iām so jealous of you guys getting in practice. I just want to get going again. Iāll do some races this week and try to get my C license. Been having a tough time in the Mazda races against people with the same iRating as me.
But at least I can get my times down to about constant 54:900 on the Jefferson course. Which puts me in the top bunch normally. But damn the course is not good for overtaking.
Whatās the next course in the Mazda Cup?
Crikey thatās fast. My fastest is just under 57:000 now and that was while testing.
Well done Beertjie
Hey Greg. Sorry if I am asking the obvious questions here, but its my IT support brain kicking in. And please, I am no expert, just trying to help you get set up.
- when you are in the game, turn your wheel 90 degrees to either side. Is the wheel in game an exact match for where your wheel is turning?
- if not, then calibrate your wheel in the game.
Thanks master
