So, after wasting the day trying to set up a decent season of themed events for the Dirt Rally League, I chose to keep the Dirt 2.0 Championship as simple as possible. Let the system generate random event locations and stages. Selected a car category and tweaked a couple of the Service Breaks. Everything else I left as generated.

Here’s the events scheduled:

Each one is set to run for 19 days so that the final ends on 29 June and allows us to use the Championship Standings for the MEW Champion of Champions competition. I try to remember to drop reminders in here a few days before each event ends, but no promises!

#1: Group A in Ribadelles, Spain [Sat, 7 Mar - Thu, 26 Mar]
#2: H3 (RWD) in New England, USA [Thu, 26 Mar - Tue, 14 Apr]
#3: R5 in Leczna County, Poland [Tue, 14 Apr - Sun, 3 May]
#4: Group B (4WD) in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand [Sun, 3 May - Fri, 22 Nay]
#5: H2 (RWD) in Catamarca Province, Argentina [Fri, 22 May - Wed, 10 Jun]
#6: Rally GT in Monaro, Australia [Wed, 10 Jun - Mon, 29 Jun]

Results and Upcoming Events and Stages can be tracked here.

And as always, anyone with Dirt Rally 2.0 on any platform is welcome to join the club, and join the Championship at any point.

Dirt Rally 2.0 is still available on Game Pass for both PC and Console.

For the record, you only have one shot… I noticed my player is called Player One, tried to quit to fix it and got a DNF across the board :joy: :joy: :joy:

Question is this rally or rally 2.0?

We’ve got threads, clubs and leagues running for both. You need a Codemasters/Racenet account to join either of the leagues. You can join both with the same account.

This thread is specifically for Dirt Rally 2.0. The 2.0 Club is here: https://dirtrally2.com/clubs/club/245127

The older Dirt Rally game has its own thread over here: MEW DiRT Rally [MEWRL]. The link to join that games’ league is: https://www.dirtgame.com/leagues/league/185828/mostepicwinrl

Oky sweet I’ll install both then I can join the league

Yeah, it’s a bit extreme indeed. We spoke about it a couple of weeks back…

It’s all the DLC stuff. It’s done so that everyone can take part in Daily/Weekly/Monthly events and in public Multiplayer lobbies even if you don’t own the DLC.

From the Dev post on the Steam Discussion board:

Note: Game Updates when DLC is not Owned

Hello everyone.

In recent weeks we’ve seen a few questions regarding the downloading of game updates, DLC and the like, and the increased size of the game. Here’s a brief note on why this happens, even when you don’t own the DLC.

  • DiRT Rally 2.0 is a game where special Events are running every day, like your Daily Challenges.

  • Some of these Events allow you to play with DLC locations despite not owning said DLC content.

  • In Multiplayer Lobbies, players without DLC content can still use them if the host owns relevant DLC items, ensuring that the playerbase isn’t segmented.

  • Outside of this, all content is downloaded to ensure players can immediately play with any extra content they buy, instead of waiting for a separate download.

Because of all the above, all players are required to have the entire game’s content installed.

I’m definitely interested in this but joh that download isn’t going to sit lekker with me or Anneli if I’m leeching from her interwebs

100% - definitely don’t do it if you’re on a cap limited bandwidth account. And especially don’t piss off Anneli to do it! No game download is worth the wrath of a woman!

Rather stick to just Dirt Rally at the moment - that’s probably half of 2.0 I think. And then find a mate with an uncapped account to go leech off for this one.

That’s actually quite cool that you get to use some of the DLC for free.

I cannot do any of the daily or weekly challenges as all of them say a purchase required for tracks or cars. :frowning:

Hmmm… I wonder if that’s the reason that the Dev uses the phrase “ Some of these Events…”? I just assumed it was all.

Also, not sure about the tracks and locations in the challenges, but I have also had a lot of them say I can’t do them because I don’t have an eligible car. And I do have all the DLC except for one random Opel Kadett I think.

I haven’t bothered checking to be certain, but I just assumed that I couldn’t do them because I didn’t “own” an eligible car in-game? Career Mode and Challenges to earn credits, spend the credits on better crew for your career and for more cars for your garage sort of thing?

You need to put more mileage on cars, to gain buffs for fixing the cars in less time, and changing setups. It translates to being more cautious during weekly or monthly’s. So, even if you do have the DLC, you may be eons off the pace, if you haven’t driven the car before and unlocked the upgrades. Unless you channel you inner colin
